Bait and switch pricing practices - stay somewhere else
It's clear that The Charter and East West Hospitality don't mind lying to their customers, which I am sure is reflected in many of their business practices. If you have the choice to stay here or other locations in the area, don't stay here.
The VRBO listing indicates that parking is available, but it does not mention that parking costs $40 a day per car. We had two cars between the three of us. So the actual price ended up being 15% higher than was advertised. Had I known this at the time of booking, I would have booked somewhere else, since there were plenty of other reasonably priced options in the area.
I called the Charter management to ask about this, they simply said "it's in the email we sent you after you already booked". They were right - it was in the email buried at the bottom in the "complimentary amenities" section that I received after entering my credit card and completing my reservation.
The customer service agent I talked to wasn't concerned. She told me I could have read that email and cancelled the reservation, which is the definition of bait-and-switch.
The Charter, and their management company East West Hospitality, are dishonest hosts. Avoid them if you can.
