Jungle - Surf and Culture Retreat

Just a 5-minute walk from the beach and nearby surfing spots, this is the perfect place for family and friends to find peace and relaxation from the hustle and bustle of the lively area around Weligama. The house is located in a friendly and quiet neighborhood near the Gurubebila Temple Area.

With much enthusiasm we have recently renovated and rebuilt the typical Sinhalese house, making it a comfortable base for your holiday in the south of Sri Lanka. We can already offer you many practical details and amenities.

Each bedroom has a ceiling fan, bright and comfortable lighting, multiple power outlets (with USB), a large shelf for storage, a mirror cabinet and ample hangers. There are 2 double beds (1.60 * 2.00m) and a single bed (1.20 * 2.00m) in which also 2 children can easily sleep.

The living room has 4 upholstered wooden chairs and a coffee table. There is storage space for your bags and a surfboard rack. There is also an uninterruptible power supply for the WLAN.
In the dining room there are 6 wooden chairs and a nice dining table with glass insert.

In the kitchen there is a new refrigerator with ice cube tray in the freezer and ice molds for fruit sorbets. There is a two-burner new gas stove. You can prepare your own meals with the extensive kitchen equipment such as pots, pans, dishes and cutlery.

These include toasters, sandwich makers, stirrers, hand blender set and many other kitchen utensils are available. For hygienic storage of your favorite tropical fruits and food, we offer plenty of Tupperware containers.

You can make coffee with an Italian mocha pot, or a French press, there is a milk frother so you do not have to miss out on cappuccino or latte macchiato on holiday. Of course there is also a tea service.

Our spacious bathroom is coated with water-repellent titanium cement. For the water supply we have our own well and a pressure pump, so that even with the hair washing enough pressure on the line is. The daylight bathroom has shelves for your toiletries, a hair dryer and a towel rail. Towels are available in sufficient numbers. There is an outdoor shower in the garden to get rid of the salt water and sand after the beach day or the surf session.

From the two large bedrooms there is direct access to the now covered 30 m² veranda south side. Here you can use the in-house hammock and two hanging chairs to relax.

From the living room and the kitchen leads to the terrace on the east side, where you can enjoy the morning sun. The large old trees on the property provide shade in the tropical heat of the day and it is also very pleasant at night due to the microclimate.
