Fall color getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this lakefront home. Everything was spotless, cozy and very comfortable - cozy pillows and throws, candles, and a welcome bag of treats awaited us. The home is easy to find and access; thorough and great communication with owners. The view from the dining room, lovely deck, one bedroom & side window overlooked the lake - gorgeous! Wi-Fi and streaming services worked seamlessly. The bed was very comfortable, bathrooms were modern & updated. The children’s bunk room is new and perfect for kids. There were binoculars and a backpack for our use and we took advantage of their Info/ideas booklet and explored many of the areas suggested. We went to a winery, a few great parks, antique stores, good restaurants, Tawas Lighthouse & waterfront & West Branch, which were all nearby. We loved the beautiful fall colors. In warmer weather, there’s plenty to do for kids with outdoor toys, games, kayaks & a fire pit. We enjoyed the games provided as well! I would highly recommend this home - we had a great anniversary/birthday and fall color weekend!

Quiet and relaxing

This house was very nice and bigger then what it appears in pictures. It was so nice having a well equipped kitchen and really the entire house.

Beautiful little lake.

My family have been coming to various lakes in Michigan for years. We look for lakefront with possible pet friendly. This little cottage was very clean, and functional for the 6 of us. It's decorated really nicely. Made an afternoon trip to Tawas and that was great. Several easy and close dinner choices if you didn't want to cook. Few more stairs to lake than expected but the stairs are nice and we didn't have any problem. The lake was great for tubing and swimming. Also we caught some fish.

We are Dan and Laura, and this is our happy place! We live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a little over two hours away, but we love to come up here to our lake house with our family whenever we get the opportunity. When we are not using it, we rent it out to guests, who we hope will enjoy it as much as we do!

We bought this house in February, 2022, and we have made a lot of improvements since then. We have tried to capture the vibes of a Finnish mökki (cottage) because the natural environment reminds us so much of our adventures in Finland.

We love that this lake is so quiet and serene, yet offers so many opportunities for recreation.

What makes this property unique

There is a public boat launch right across the lake, so it is easy to bring your own boat to keep at our dock. You can also rent a pontoon boat from nearby Lake Ogemaw Marina.
