Enjoy this peaceful cottage with a park like setting on the Rifle River. Take in beautiful views of the river and wildlife.

We have several kayaks that guests can use to enjoy a relaxing trip down the river or one of the several lakes nearby.

There are two fire pits, a larger one by the river and one next to the house with firewood provided for your use.

The house is beautiful furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen. There are two comfortable queen beds and twin bunk bends with plenty of room for all to enjoy.

Third Time is a Charm!

We just love this home more each time we stay! So comfortable and relaxing. The 'feel like' temperature outside was '14' but the home was warm and cozy. We watched the wildlife attracted to the bird feeder as well as the flowing river. Everything imaginable to prepare and cook a large meal.Thanks for renting to us.

Great stay on the river

We had a great time staying on the river house was well equipped. My grand kids loved being able to kayack or fish. The fire pit by the river was very nice plenty of chairs and wood. We will definitely be back!

Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature

The property was awesome. It was extremely clean and listing was spot on in description. We enjoyed the Rifle River along the back of the property and the multiple fire pits. It was so quiet and relaxing it was just what we all needed for a perfect fall weekend getaway. Besides the campfire and river the available kayaks were the next best thing. Kellie and Eugene were great hosts and and responded quickly and promptly to any questions prior to booking and after booking. The place was great and we as a family are already talking about going back at some point in the near future.

Perfect Anniversary Trip!

My husband and I rented the property for our 15th anniversary trip. It was the two of us and our golden doodle. Everything was fantastic, described, and represented perfectly in the listing. It is in a nice quiet area where one side of the property is wooded. There are neighbors on the other side, but not too close at all. The property is right on the river as described, it is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We walked up the river, as the water was shallow enough. We also really enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the rocking chairs and had the most perfect weather for it! It was the quiet, relaxing, and beautiful trip that we were hoping for! We highly recommend this property and would most definitely rent It again in the future!

Rifle River Tubing Trip

We had a great time, perfect, beautiful location on the river! Tubes are not included like it was stated in the listing so we did have to buy our own. There is a pet fee as well but worth it because they provide a little fenced in area for your pup! Our dog had a blast swimming and running around. We did not use the kayaks but they were available for use which was nice. We dropped our tubes in at Kenneth Rd and floated back to the house, it was the perfect trip. There was plenty of firewood to use, we brought our own as well. Beds and couches were super comfy. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time, im sure we will be back!

First, the couple small hiccups (internet not working, microwave not working) the owners responded with solutions immediately. The place was clean, the recreation was amazing. Nothing but good things to say.

Everything and More

Four friends and I stayed at this property in August and were very impressed. I’ve stayed at quite a few rentals and have never been to one so well stocked with everything you could need. The house was also much cleaner than some rentals I’ve stayed at. The yard is beautiful and peaceful. We loved taking the provided kayaks out on the river. The owners were extremely responsive. We’ve already booked for next year!

Quiet getaway. Very clean. Highly recommend!

This home was cozy, clean and very welcoming having just about everything you might need! We enjoyed the open layout of the kitchen, dining and living room. Very pet-friendly with a small outdoor fenced in area and a long leash off the back deck. The beds and couch were all comfortable. There was plenty of firewood with two fire pits and picnic tables; one of each up by the house and one of each down by the river. There is a hill with spaced out stairs and another trail to get to the river. There is not a wide space to wade into the river. You can get in and get the kayaks in and out but there is a bit of a drop down to actually get to the water. There is a water purifier installed in the kitchen and I was happy that the mineral smell was not as intense as other cabins I’ve stayed in. We did bring our own water to drink and cook with. The owners were prompt in responding to any questions. I highly recommend this property.

Great Get-Away

A great place to just get away from everything. The house was very well kept with all needed amenities. The kids loved the water access and fire pits. An hour drive brings you to plenty of options to enjoy yourself.

Home away from home

We (4 adults), stayed here for a wedding. We also brought our dog. It had a very homey feel. Clean, comfortable and perfect location. I do have to say, and this isn't about the owners, but the neighbors somewhere have 2 dogs that surprised us twice. Came from the river up to the house. We had a full day to enjoy the river, even the dog got in! It rained a couple of days. There are games and dvd's to keep you occupied. Beds were comfortable! Would absolutely recommend this location. Thanks for a great stay!

Skidway lake Family Reunion

Peaceful and relaxing!

Everything was wonderful at this house! Having the water right outside was a huge plus and provided fun during the day thanks to the ample supply of kayaks. We loved the firepit at night and appreciate the supply of firewood. The inside decor is charming, kitchen has everything you need, beds were cozy, and couch was comfy. Our family of five (including three teenagers) were all very happy with our time here and would return again.

Peaceful Winter Retreat

Cabin is located on prime spot with beautiful view of the Rifle River. Cozy and quiet; exceptionally clean; well-stocked kitchen; beds very comfortable. Rained on and off the whole time, but it we still enjoyed campfires at night, and the raindrops falling on the river added to the serenity of this beautiful cabin. Highly recommend; will return this summer or fall to enjoy the river.

Fantastic, relaxing weekend

This cottage was perfect for my family (me, my mom, my grandparents, and two dogs). The property is beautiful and secluded with only one neighbor (and you can barely see their home). The picnic table by the river was so nice to sit at in the morning while the dogs enjoyed the breeze. The cottage itself was very clean, organized, and well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens, etc. The living room is spacious enough that we still had plenty of room to maneuver even with two dog beds on the floor. The couch is very comfy - I took 3 naps totaling 8 hours on our second day! We ventured to Tawas one day and enjoyed an afternoon exploring. If we had more time we would have done more nearby but with a short weekend our main goal was to disconnect and relax. All four of the humans and both of the dogs agreed that we want to come back as soon as we can in the spring! Thank you for a wonderful weekend :)

Getaway

Fabulous location, property, amenities etc. I plan on coming back. We have a small request that the owners supply ice cube trays and a lighter for the fire pit. Not being a smoker we had to utilize our Girl Scout abilities. Thank you paper towels and grill. Everyone had fun during our adventure to the rifle river.

Even better than the listing

This property was even nicer than the pictures! The outside was well kept and nicely landscaped. Easy access to the river. Picnic tables and firepits by the river and by the house. Lots of wildlife and the bird feeder brought many birds, squirrels,and chipmunks. The inside was VERY neat and clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of dishes and good pots and pans. The neighborhood was quiet. We were just a few minutes from town that had many places to get supplies. Ower got back with me when I had a question very quickly. It is a very nice home.
