About this property

Piedmont Green

This Rustic Ocmulgee Cabin is a River Paradise. From your front porch you can see Zellner Island and Juliette Damn. This one-bedroom cabin features all the niceties of home, with an authentic primitive feel. The house features a studio set-up, a comfortable queen bed, and an efficiency kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. The home also contains a bathroom, features heat and air, and comes with towels and linens.
*Please note this is cabin #8at Towaliga River Retreat* Additionally, Towaliga River Retreat operates on well water and we do not recommend drinking from the tap.
Amazing Amenities
At Towaliga, you can fire up the charcoal grill or relax by the community fire pit overlooking the Ocmulgee River. You’ll also have access to canoes and kayaks. If you come with your own boat, we’ve got you covered. Plenty of room for boat trailer parking!
Outdoor Access
Towaliga River Retreat is located on the banks of the Ocmulgee within eye-sight of the Juliette Dam. Although the nearby town of Juliette is perhaps most known for the famous Whistle Stop Café featured in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes, the area is also home to some of the best hiking trails, gravel biking routes, kayaking and canoeing, and fresh water fishing that Middle Georgia has to offer.
Anglers can expect to find shoal bass, large mouth bass, and other species both from the banks of the river or just around the bend in Lake Juliette. Lake Juliette boasts 60 miles of shoreline and 3,600 acres of pristine bass habitat.
Bikers and hikers should be excited to stay and play on our on-site trails. In addition, the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge and Chattahoochee National Forest provide miles and miles of secluded roads. With dozens of trails to choose from for hiking and biking, we'll provide you with some of our favorites when you book!
Hunters will be impressed with the access available for game hunting on these same public lands, as well as nearby Rum Creek Wildlife Management Area. For duck hunters, Lake Juliette is one of the premiere waterfowl areas in central Georgia.

Glamping getaway

Very nice & peaceful getaway. Sat outside most of the time out of the balcony in the evenings. Decent size kitchen area and shower for the small space which was great! Even explored the town/jarrell planation & kayaked down the ocmulgee river, great location for all of that.

Absolutely amazing.

The property was beautiful and clean. Doesn’t get any better being right off the river. The cabin was nice and clean and updated. Property manager on site was very helpful and quick to respond. We will definitely be back for another visit!!

Enjoyed our rustic cabin getaway, so close to the "Whistle Stop Cafe". !

My husband loved fishing (large mouth bass), so close to the cabin. Jennifer, our local host was very friendly & gave us advice on what was nearby to see/eat/explore. We did have a problem with opening our door, but it was all good. We'll be back!
