Great place

The staff were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast had lots of great options. Location was walkable to lots of great trails and downtown Aspen for shopping and restaurants.

Different than pictured

A bit of a bait and switch, would not rebook. And I camped for 4 nights after. Camping was cleaner.

Tutu from Virginia

First floor very convenient - only a few stairs - for my husband & me, both in our 80s Breakfast offerings very good . Older facility, but we were ok with that / One exception: screen in bathroom window was loose & let in bugs .

Simple accommodations with close access to town

The Aspen Valley Lodge is an older property but well-kept. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple but offers a nice assortment of options with fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, coffee, etc. The first-floor dining and living areas are comfortable and nice, with a central fireplace. It is near the bus stop for Snowmass and other mountains and is within walking distance of Ajax, but I wouldn't recommend carrying your skis daily. Close to restaurants and downtown shopping. My room was quiet but somewhat drafty, with a summer air conditioner stalled in the window, leaving gaps for cold air to enter. The heater worked well but was somewhat loud. If I were to go to Aspen, I would consider this accommodation again.
