About the host

What makes this property unique
This is unique house with a great Texas history ( and on the Historical Regsiter)- the house was built By the Morgan's, One of 3 brothers who came to Texas post Civil War.
Their dad died in the war and eventually all of the family ( including their mother and sister) settled in Fayette County. Each brother owned a business in the town of Plum and they co-jointly owned the Cotton Gin ( The Morgan's owned the Lumber yard, General Store, Farm Implement store and a saloon) .
So the house was built ( 1924) and it far surpassed any other local houses in both size, stature and features. Once we learned about the history we knew we had to remodel the house and keep its originality and bring some of it BACK to the originality ( by removing 1980s paneling etc). So now the house is full of antiques and we believe it to be a great house for Antique hunters coming to town to get away from the big city or to go hunt antique treasures in Lagrange, Round Top or Smithville !
The house looks like the 1920s but it feels updated ( insulated, all new plumbing and electrical) a pool and a huge yard, and 2026 we will have finished a private CHAPEL on premises
