Sustainability, Conservation & Community Impact
Caring for the land and supporting our local community are at the heart of how we host. When you stay with us, you are directly contributing to conservation, reforestation, and keeping tourism income within Monteverde.
Over the past five years, we have:
• Planted 600+ native trees and plants to help restore forest habitat
• Reintroduced coffee cultivation on the property using traditional, low-impact methods
• Established two biological corridors that connect wildlife on our land to more than 56,000 hectares of protected primary forest
• Donated a portion of every stay to CorClima, a local organization supporting climate action, reforestation, and community resilience
These efforts support the birds, mammals, and plant life that make Monteverde so special—and many guests experience this firsthand through the wildlife they see right from the balcony.
As local hosts, we’re proud that your stay helps protect the environment while keeping income within our community.
Guests are welcome to enjoy shared outdoor spaces, including native gardens, fruit trees, our coffee field, and walking paths woven through the landscape.

Helpful Notes for a Comfortable Stay
• Please keep windows and doors closed when away—monkeys are clever and curious.
• Insects are a normal part of forest life and play an important role in the ecosystem. During the dry season, tiny mites in leaf litter (especially while hiking) can cause itching, so we recommend using repellent and showering after hikes.
• A house manual is provided with WiFi details, directions, and local recommendations.
• Monteverde has cool, comfortable temperatures year-round; air conditioning is not needed.
• Tap water is potable, so there’s no need to purchase bottled water. We appreciate thoughtful water and energy use as part of our eco-conscious approach.
