About this property

Bay Front Cabin,Pet Friendly,150' Fishing Pier

Original cabin was built in1956 so it is one of the older homes in the area. It has been updated over the years with custom cabinets with a nautical style. In 2020 Hurricaine Sally did substancial damage to the home. We have updated and repaired but attempted to keep some of the old charm. Cabin is located directly on Mobile Bay with150' private pier updated in 2022. You can catch blue crab, speckled trout , red fish and many others. Dolphins aften swim and put on spectaculur shows. The sunrises and sunsets are exceptional.

Cabin is in a quiet, secluded area in Fort Morgan Alabama . No busy commercial congestion or large condominium complexes. Relax on the deck with excellent views of Mobile Bay.Spend the day, just a short drive away, on the uncrowded white, sandy beach. Find shells, watch for dolphins and swim in the clear blue waters of the gulf.
It's a short drive to several great golf courses, or shopping in Gulf Shores and the Foley (Tanger) outlet centers.
At the west end of the island peninsula are the remains of Fort Morgan. One of the two forts that protected mobile during the battle of mobile bay, the fort dates from 1812. After touring the fort, there are opportunities to stroll the white beaches, swim, fish or crab, shell hunt, and sunbathe. This spot is a favorite with birdwatchers, who have been known to make rare sightings of migratory birds. A marina, golf course, and extra lodging are all nearby.

Great Place for Fishing, Boating & Relaxing
Great location for avoiding some of the summer time crowds and enjoy a beach vacation. Nice fishing dock, several boat ramps close by and public access to beach. Fantastic sunsets and plenty fish to catch right from the dock.

Beautiful Getaway!
We had three adults staying for the week and two small dogs. The house was perfect. The bunk beds were very nice, but meant for children- no worries though, the couch slept very well. The fishing was great from the pier - we caught flounder, speckled trout and crab. The sunrise’s and sunsets were magnificent. Community was quiet. The kitchen was well - stocked with everything we needed. The host was amazing - accommodated us with an outdoor grill upon request and readily responded to questions. Thank you for a great week - we plan to be back!

Great views
We had a wonderful stay, luckily had mostly great weather too. We don't fish but the long dock would be perfect for someone that does. On calm days we could see dolphins swim by, lots of pelicans, herons etc.. The cottage had most things we needed to be comfortable and all in all it was great! Very peaceful place to be!

We have been visiting the Gulf Shores area for many years. My husband and I have been married 35+ years. We live on a farm in central part of Alabama. We have two boys and one granddaughter. We all love the beach and fishing. We always dreamed of owning a house in the area.We are only about 4 hours away so are able to visit frequently. We have a home nearby that we plan to make our retirement home. We are also General Contractors and have custom built one home, and completely remodeled our other two. In 2023 we are building our fourth rental home to a 4 bed 3 bath available that will be handicap friendly. We hope to have ready to rent before 2024.

Why they chose this property

We visited this property 20 years ago when a freind was staying there. We always wanted a bay front property and this one became available and we knew this would be it. The sunset and sunrise veiws are unbeliavble. The area is quite and peaceful. The fishing and crabbing are outstanding.

What makes this property unique

Waterfront, private peir, away from the crowds. The gulf holds plenty of prized treasures. From the many museums and historic sites to birdwatching and extensive hiking trails, there are so many nooks and crannies to explore at the very edge of Alabama.Right on the coast of Alabama is the community of Fort Morgan. It makes for an exquisite and highly-sought vacation destination. While these beaches are a bit of a secret compared to other popular destinations, that doesn’t mean that they are lacking in facilities.
When you choose Fort Morgan beach rentals, the whole family can come along. Our rentals are pet-friendly and allow visitors to bring their furry friends on vacation. We also have pets, and welcome pets of all sizes.
The Gulf Coast is known for waters that are teeming with fish and the coastline off Fort Morgan is no exception. There are many options here for fishing including casting your line from a local pier, going out for a short trip near the shore, or devoting a day to a deep sea fishing excursion.
Animals in the area still make Fort Morgan their home..Take a look at the ground, and you could spot an Alabama Beach Mouse. It's the only place on Earth where you can find this particular species. The beach mice rarely get the recognition they deserve for their contributions to beach preservation.Carrying the seeds of sea oats and other plants back to their burrows promotes the spread of those plants to new areas.
During your trip, you will find many tempting reasons to leave your rental. Golf enthusiasts will be glad to know that there are quality courses nearby, while foodies will be impressed by the range of dining options. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or looking for a casual bite, the dining here will deliver. If after dinner you still haven’t had enough, nightlife can provide the cherry on top to a perfect day. Another significant attraction here is the Fort Morgan Historic Site and Museum, there is something for every traveler.
