Hook of the Hamate is a peaceful oasis offering country charm with city convenience and amenities. The first level includes a kitchen, dining, and living room perfect for entertaining groups. The middle level features 4 queen bedrooms & a bunk room with 4 twin beds. The spa level offers an outdoor hot tub and private yoga studio overlooking a serene pond. Peaceful and secluded, yet only 6 minutes to Saugatuck and even closer to the beach, this home is ideal.

Our pet fee is $145 and will include a Pet Basket for you to use during your stay: food and water bowls, waste bags, lavender pet shampoo, pet stain remover, puppy towel, and a little treat :) Woof Woof!

Yoga Studio: The Yoga Studio on the Spa Retreat Level is NOT included with the rental of this property. The studio was built with the intention of being a place to practice yoga, reflect, or embark on a meditative journey. The Yoga Studio is available as an add-on to your stay for $75/night for those wishing to use this space for spiritual/meditative practices. Yoga Sessions with Harvey are available upon request at an additional charge per session.
Cancellation Policy: We hope you never need to cancel your time away, but in the event that you do, guests are advised that any cancellation prior to 30 days will result in a $149 processing fee or 3.9% of the total reservation, whichever is greater. Cancellations between 14-30 days prior arrival date will result in a 50% forfeiture of total reservation plus $149 processing fee. Cancellations within 14 days of arrival date will result in a 100% forfeiture of the total reservation. Our Cancellation Policy may vary slightly from policies listed on third party booking platforms and will supersede the cancellation policies listed on those platforms. We recommend securing your trip with a travel insurance company should the need to cancel your reservation occur outside of the allotted window. (this is applicable for VRBO, Bookingdotcom, and Direct Bookings)

We Michiganders like to hold up our hand and point to where we are located within the state of Michigan. If you do that you will find the part of the hand that contains "the hook of the hamate bone" and BAM! That's how we got the name! Hook of the Hamate is located in the beautifully lush town of Fennville. Sprawling farmlands lead you to believe you are miles and miles away from civilization, when in fact you are mere minutes from some of the best culture Michigan has to offer! This area has been developing over the years and has quickly become a hotspot on the travel map, with its cute cafes, delicious restaurants, abundance of wineries and breweries, and plentiful orchards.
Only 4 miles up the road you land in the darling towns of Saugatuck & Douglas. These sister towns have a storied history of incredible beauty, divine cuisine, and a killer art scene. From small businesses that have been operating for decades to fresh, new popups, there is something for everyone in this thriving cultural center voted Best Beach Town by Midwest Living Magazine.
The nearby Oval Beach is only 10 minutes away, and Conde Nast Traveler has ranked it in the top 25 best shorelines in the world! That's right, the WORLD! State-known hiking and biking trails fill the area, and gorgeous state parks with majestic forested dunes line the shoreline. There is no shortage of incredible offerings no matter what you're into. Less than a 6-minute drive to Downtown Saugatuck/Douglas, and even closer to the nearest beach, this home is perfectly situated, giving you an escape whilst still being close to all the local happenings. This home was built for hosting—literally. Relax on one of the decks with panoramic views while you listen to the fountain trickle in your own private lily pond. Prepare a fabulous meal in the large, fully equipped, custom chef's kitchen. Are you a coffee/tea lover? A deluxe coffee/tea bar awaits! Savor the fresh flavors of expertly roasted local coffee and artisan loose-leaf tea before heading out on the day’s adventures. When twilight strikes, enjoy some memorable chats and s'mores over a crackling bonfire. And when the day is done, climb into the plush terry robe that's waiting in your bedroom, and cozy up in one of our wonderfully comfortable beds.

The upper level is an incredible entertaining area with an open floor plan: fully stocked kitchen, large dining table, living room with a glowing fireplace, and a large, screened-in deck with comfortable seating for al fresco dining. The lower level becomes your very own world-class spa! Dual copper tubs, eucalyptus-infused steam room, rain shower, fully equipped yoga studio, and hot tub just outside the lower level doors.

The Saugatuck Township Interurban Transit Authority offers pick-ups and drop-offs for only $1 each way to anywhere in Saugatuck Township. Simply call in the moment or ahead and reserve a time and pick-up/drop-off location and your chariot awaits!
Want to venture out into the rest of Michigan's Art Coast? Downtown South Haven and Holland are only a 20-minute drive away and offer a whole different vibe filled with other activities to explore!
