About this property

Quaint Family-sized historic home - 5-mins from downtown

This beautiful historic home has wood floors, high ceilings, crown moldings, built-ins and leaded glass. With a spacious covered front porch and new back deck + yard, there's plenty of room for a cozy cup of coffee, or backyard BBQ. There is not central AC. We do have three window units, one in each bedroom, plus a free-standing unit in the main living space, in addition to two ceiling fans and bedroom fans.

The main floor has 2-large bedrooms, a living-dining great room, kitchen with breakfast nook, plus a full and half-bath. The upstairs is a converted attic - perfect for lounging or napping, a hang-out spot for teens, your home office or room for another couple.

A quick walk to the covered pedestrian-bridge a block away, or the pedestrian underpass, will get you downtown in 10-minutes. It's also easy to drive or bike in just 5-minutes. A few blocks north is North Hills hiking trail access point, to miles of open space. Or, a mile east takes you to the southern access of Greenough Park and Rattlesnake Creek area - another wonderful urban park.

This home is in the Historic Northside Neighborhood, a mix of some of Missoula's oldest homes, some commercial space, a great café and gas station just a block away, and St. Patrick's Hospital's Providence center across the street.

Whether you're looking for a great spot for your family's extended vacation, coming for a visit to UM, here with a hunting or fishing group, or looking for a few months' rental, this is a lovely spot for you and your family.

June Stay at Molly's House Missoula Northside
Stayed for the month of June; beautiful weather. Comfortable living room, big dining table off the living room. Nice size kitchen, easy to navigate and well stocked with utensils, dish towels, dishes, ect. Small nook off kitchen leading to back fenced in property with grass area and a gravel area. New patio area with table, umbrella and chairs. Weber Sprint model grill with full tank of propane upon arrival. We spent many nights grilling and on the patio; very comfortable. Primary bathroom with shower off the kitchen; half bath off the kitchen nook. First floor bedrooms have what felt like new queen size beds; very nice. My wife used the upstairs area for reading, and yoga practice. We enjoyed our stay; excellent communication with Molly.

Homey and Comfortable for a Family Stay
The owner, Molly, immediately made us feel welcome and was even there to greet us and answer questions. We were in town for my daughter’s college graduation and she thoughtfully left her some gorgeous flowers! Molly was very responsive to messages, addressed concerns promptly and accommodated a few special requests during our stay. This historical home (built in the early 1900’s) was just as described in the listing and met our family’s needs perfectly. It was clean and private. Just by chance they were repairing the street in front of the house the week we were there, yet the accessibility issues were only a minor inconvenience. The work was done during the weekdays when we were out and about and it was quiet at night. The beds were all comfortable. Although it was a bit warm in the attic for one of our guests while we were there, a fan was provided. We got a lot of use out of the living/ room dining room, which was homey and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to prepare food for a fairly large group. We enjoyed a meal on the grill and a fire pit circle in their newly-renovated backyard one night. The WiFi worked great and it was handy to have a washer/dryer to get us through the week with clean clothes. We used the large new HDTV to play a YouTube video of “Flying Over Montana Beautiful Nature Scenery,” which added a nice ambience. We would definitely consider renting this home again next time we’re in the area.

We've lived in Missoula for over 20-years and have been managing this property for my husband's parents in 2006. As of 2021 we are the official owners! In 2022, Molly's parents sold her childhood home in Milwaukee, and we were able to convert this to a vacation rental with much of Molly's mom's style throughout - Hence the name "Nonni's Northside Digs." We spend a lot of time challenging ourselves and our kids from the peaks of the mountains to the currents of the rivers, in all four-seasons. We are passionate about connection to this place - MisSOULa has a special SOUL - it's creative, weird, welcoming and cool. We hope you make your own special connections while you're here.

Why they chose this property

We love the location - walking distance to restaurants, hiking trails and parks. Excellent food and art scene. Live, local music. Big shows at The Wilma theater and the Kettlehouse Amphitheater. Minor League Baseball in Summer (Misssoula Paddlheads), and great sports through the University of Montana. Expert skiing at Montana Snowbowl, just 25 mins away, and access to 4-beginner-expert resorts within a 2-hour drive in any direction. At the crossroads of I-90 and Hwy 93 - make big day trips or little treks to Glacier, Yellowstone, up the Bitterroot Valley, Flathead Lake, the Seeley-Sway region and beyond. We even have stunning 9- and 18-hole golf courses with views that are on par.

What makes this property unique

Our Blue Ribbon trout streams, mountain vistas and gorgeous sunsets, 18-hour summer days and winter powder beckon your arrival. Missoula boasts numerous fine restaurants, an active arts community and many cultural offerings through the hundreds of nonprofits and the University of Montana. There are unlimited outdoor activities available throughout the year. This property has easy access to I-90 to get in and out of town, it's a quick 5 min walk to the North Hills hiking trails in one direction and 5- to 10-minutes to the heart of Downtown Missoula in the other.
