About this property

Stunning Lake and mountain views

Las Casillas, Andalucía, Spain
Las Casillas is a hamlet in the Martos municipality in the province of Jaen, Spain. It is located between the rivers Salado and Viboras and located by the reservoir of Viboras. It lies across the front of the majestic Sierra de la Caracolera. Wander around the pretty village streets, take a saunter up and around the mound, the views are sensational with spots to stop and sit. In the evenings you may chat with the locals or sit quietly and breathe in the clean air.

Doctor Surgery: Avda. Sagrada Familia. If you walk from your entrance and turn right, then walk straight along Calle Puerla del Sol you take second right, walk past the childrens swing park and the doctors surgery is facing you. Your nearest hospital is Martos.

Pharmacy: The farmacia is owned by Mateo Gamez Guerrero and is located in Calle Francisco Molina Maldonado, no. 40, you can easily see the pharmacy sign. Take the same directions for the doctors but take the first right at the end of Calle Puerta de Sol where the bus stop is. Mateo speaks fluent English and is very knowledgeable and helpful. First port of call and only a short 5 minute walk. Just past the Church on your way there you will find a yellow post box.
.
Bar Mendoza: This bar has tables set out in the square. When walking down to the village this is the first of two bars that you will come to as you enter the village square .

Bank: set on the square there is the Caja Rural bank, here they have a cash machine which you can change the language for. Please be aware that you will be charged for withdrawals from here unless you are a member of the bank.

Bar Moya: If you carry on past the square you will find the treasure that is Bar Moya on your left hand side. The building was once the village cinema. Tables and chairs are set outside on request. A very hospitable bar where the locals are friendly. The food here is great and we have been served some delicious tapas in our time. Genuine and friendly.

Village Shop: 2 doors past Bar Moya’s doors you will find the Village Shop/ tobacconists. Here they sell all your staples and what they don’t have there and then, they can get for you if you request it.
Getting around
Your accommodation access is via the back lane where you can park opposite the property gate. With advance notice we can provide you a taxi service so you may explore the beautiful surrounding towns and night life.

Lovely stay in tiny village in real Spain
Casa Holmes is in a lovely little village and is impeccably clean with a completely private fantastic large pool. Lots of thoughtful touches iwhich is in a little old authentic Spanish village house . Great aircon in all bedrooms! The only SLIGHT drawbacks are that the stairs are quite steep with the last two steps being higher than others - there is a baby gate but for tiny children maybe not totally suitable - there is a handrail however. The surround of the pool is very dark so remember to wear flip flops if it is a hot day! Wonderful terrace with far reaching views. Thoroughly recommend - just the peaceful break we needed! Thanks Mark and Ellen.

Excellent hosts that were able to help and guide us on any issues, or questions arising. The property is well appointed and comfortable. The terrace/balcony is a lovely place to sit and view out/chill. Kayaks on the lake was a highlight and again, our excellent hosts looked after us with this We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, as a place to stay
