This is a fully enclosed apartment in a historic home in the McDoel Gardens neighborhood, 5-min to the B-Line, Hopscotch Coffee and Cardinal Spirits. 15 min walk to downtown. 25 min walk to campus.

Perfect for A Couple

My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting IU for a weekend, and it was absolutely perfect for the two of us. The location is very close to campus. The neighborhood felt very safe, and the yard was perfect for our dog! The bathroom is a very tight space but was fine for two people. Overall, everything about our stay was great!

Great Location

This small but cozy place gets the job done and is in a great location for anyone visiting IU / Bloomington. There were a couple hiccups with the checkin process but the manager was very responsive and our issue was resolved quickly.

Great Spot!

On top of being a unique and adorable set-up, there were snacks, extra toiletries, and everything else you could think of! The place was clean and well thought out and the decorations definitely lived up to the name of Boho-Chic! There was a little front patio and a fenced in yard to use as well. The location was quiet and safe and in walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The host was a delight to work with and it was clear that they put time and effort into thinking through everything a guest could possible want or need. I would recommend this stay to anyone and would definitely book again!

Great Location!

This is such a cute property! It was exactly as described-boho chic. The fenced in yard was a bonus for our dogs. The owner was very friendly. The kitchen is tiny but has everything you need.

An Ideal Accommodation My Pup and I

Easy access location, nicely furnished and comfortable for my 6 month Old English Sheepdog puppy and myself. I chose this location because she welcomed any size dog and I noticed this nice sized covered porch with easy access to the yard. What rocked is there was a secure, fenced yard. I could actually play a little fetch with my pup and let her burn some energy! I must’ve missed that in the property description. Bonus! The only draw back, is the bathroom is small. Everything was immaculate and clean, premium soaps and toiletries were provided, I’m a small sized gal, it worked fine for me. What you see in the pictures, is what you’ll arrive to. Very clean, cozy, the hints of a very courteous hostess. If or when I return to Bloomington and needing accommodation, I will reach out for availability again. Thank you!

I'm an educator and dog mom who has traveled to over 75 countries. I have used my extensive travel experience to offer my guests comfortable and high-quality hospitality while they are visiting Bloomington.

Why they chose this property

This triplex was built as a house in 1920 and renovated into the triplex you see today in the 1970's. The property was vacant for at least two years before I purchased it in 2014, and I have taken care to ensure that renovations I have made enhance the historic character of this unique multifamily property.

For instance, I removed all old carpets and re-finished the hardwood floors with my dad in the main two living units. I have also kept the furnishings and fixtures in the units in alignment with the age and location of the property by sourcing from local antique stores. The guest suite has views of the historic limestone McDoel Baptist Church (now also Hoosier Heights Climbing Gym) from the patio and living room. The studio has views onto the backyard/garden area.

What makes this property unique

Travelers to this property will love the furnished front porch, mid-century furnishings, artwork, all-cotton beddings/linens and high-tech amenities like Marley bluetooth speaker, Roku Smart TV and Keurig. This listing is dog-friendly and guests may use the fenced-in backyard to exercise their dogs during their stay. Location is perfect for walking to Hopscotch Coffee, Cardinal Spirits, Southern Stone restaurant, Switchyard Park and the B-Line Trail, which is all within a 5-minute walk. Kroger is a 10-minute walk and downtown Bloomington is a 20-minute walk.

I have also stocked the unit with lots of small touches for guests, from board games and puzzles, to weighted blankets and local event guides. DIY breakfast includes fresh eggs, milk, coffee/tea, pancake mix, eggo waffles, cereals, granola and yogurt.
