With the recent rainfall and fall foliage, leaves and other debris can accumulate quickly, even between guest stays. We make every effort to check and refresh the outdoor areas between each rental, and we appreciate your understanding. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

We do want to clarify the circumstances surrounding the trash left at the property, as the review does not accurately reflect what occurred during the stay. Our house rules clearly require all trash to be securely bagged before being placed in the outdoor trash bin. This information is provided in multiple places, including the rental agreement, house rules, welcome book, signs inside the home, and additional signage located directly on and around the outdoor garbage bin. We also provide all necessary trash bags to guests at no additional cost. The house rules further explain that an additional cleaning fee may apply when these requirements are not followed. Unfortunately, during this stay, the guests did not follow these instructions. Unbagged garbage was placed into the bin, and additional unsecured trash was left down the hill and outside of the designated trash container. This resulted in additional cleanup time and work after checkout. We provided the guests with photos within 24 hours of checkout documenting the extent of the garbage that was left throughout the property. These photos clearly showed that this was not simply a matter of a full trash bin, but rather unsecured and unbagged trash left in and outside of the designated disposal area. We work hard to provide a clean, comfortable home and clear instructions so that every guest can enjoy their stay and leave the property in good condition for the next guests. We understand that guests may have different expectations, but we do need to enforce the rules that are clearly communicated and provided in advance. However, in a gesture of goodwill, we did approve returning the additional charge back to the guest, upon which the guest then chose to write a negative review. We appreciate all of our guests who take the time to follow the property guidelines and help us keep the home in great condition for everyone.
