Writers View Provides Inspiration and Serenity

The view is a breathtaking snapshot of the Adirondacks at this beautiful mountain chalet perched half way up Mt. Pisgah which hosts a family ski area 1200 feet away. At the end of the patio is a view of Mt. Marcy, NY States' highest. Isolation. You have peace and quiet as you enjoy Writers View named for Robert Louis Stevenson, Author who lived across the valley just 1 mile away. Lake Placid, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics is only 9 miles away. Great hiking and wildlife are all around.
A special note for guests bringing pets. We have lots of Deer, Bears, Bobcats and other assorted wildlife around. So, you must leash your pets and not let them run free. Or, they may be come pet food. Also, the Chalet is near year round homes that are within sight and approximately 200 to 300 yards away. Even though they are far away, please be cognizant of their privacy.

Winter Getaway!
The view was absolutely amazing! The location relative to town was perfect! Plenty of space for our families and always appreciate pet friendly. Terry was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Our only concern was the cleanliness. The carpets did not appear to be to be vacuumed upstairs. The fridge and dishwasher could have used more attention prior to our arrival. Lots of great attributes and these concerns are easily addressed!

What a great time!
Terry, thanks so much for allowing us to stay at this beautiful place in the Adirondacks. The fireplace and views were just the perfect combination for a getaway in the mountains. Thanks again for your hospitality. Some of the best views in the mountains!

Amazing Experience
This property is amazing. Terry was fantastic. He made everything very easy- check -in was very easy. The place is gorgeous. Don't forget to check out the steam room . We will be back next year!!

I am originally from Saranac Lake NY. My entire family of 11 grew up in SL and many of my brothers and sisters live in Placid and Saranac. You may bump into them in either town. My father Dew Drop Morgan was a legend and former National Champion Bobsledder. Brother Jimmy was Captain of the 1976 Olympic Bobsled team in Innsbruck, Austria. Brother John has commentated at 10 Winter Olympics for NBC, ABC and CBS. You can see John playing himself in the hit Disney movie "Cool Runnings." I have more family info and history on the guest booklet on the coffee table in the Chalet. Enjoy.
