Very clean and comfortable stay. The only complaint we had was that the beds are not very comfortable at all but I know everyone has a different opinion on that. Especially the second bedroom beds. The bunker is very roomy with everything you need.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was clean and bigger than expected. We had trouble with the refrigerator breaking down twice, the garbage disposal clogging and the AC not working. We wonder if we were the first ones to rent the place for a while. The good news is the maintenance team acted very quickly to correct all problems. When we reserved this place, we didn’t know the complex was still being repaired/painted from Hurricane Harvey. Our windows were covered with plastic as painting took place for about 3 weeks out of the 4 weeks we were there. So we could not see outside or open windows. That was a downside. The beds are all horrible — the Queen size squeaks like mad and the 2 twin beds are so hard it would be impossible to sleep on them. Believe it!

Property is in a good location. However it states it sleeps 6 comfortably. 1 king bed. 2 twins and 2 fold out cots with ripped up mattresses. Pillows were stained. Microwave vent was barely hanging on. States you have a dishwasher for your stay but it doesn’t work. Shower glass door was broken and you have to force it to close enough you won’t get water all over the bathroom. Battery on the door keypad lock was broken or batteries were dead. Had to call after hours to get someone out to get us in. Didn’t have correct equipment or keys so had to wait again. Did not get into our condo until almost midnight. Very disappointed especially paying the price you do for a condo. Will not stay here again.

It was roomy, but several things were broken and not very well maintained. Had a hard time with water temperature, extremely hot or never warm! Locked in pool area and 2 telephone calls and no clue how to help; even telling me no pool was included; finally released by a screwdriver.

The decor was nice and the condo was much larger than expected however lots of issues. Remotes didn't have backs or batteries and lots of them, binds were broken in kitchen, rugs were unraveling and you could see they haven't been cleaning under them, wasn't cleaned very well before we arrived, master shower doors barley opened (water pressure was amazing), master toilet ran the whole time, back balcony railing was not sturdy, and kitchen hot water didn't work unless you used the sprayer.

Size was the only thing good about this condo. The commode in the master bdrm ran all the time. The condo was not clean. The rugs were torn in the living room. There were no instructions on how to work the many remotes for the tvs nor a code to get into the swimming area. The blind in the kitchen broke upon trying to open.

Not a good stay!

The hot water did not work in one of the showers, no hot water in kitchen and low water pressure. The washer broke during our stay so we could not wash clothes. Railing loose on the back patio. Cable did not work when we arrived. Had to wait until the maintenence man resolved the issue. No batteries in remotes. This place had alot of issues and was not worth what we paid for!

It was nice however we had an issue with the hot water, you have to turn the handle just right otherwise it's cold. No TV in master bedroom. The carpet in the living room was unraveling & I tripped on it. But overall it was cozy, plenty of room & we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely go back 😊

Enjoyable Stay but Could Have Been Better

I like the way reservations and check in (obtaining access to the unit) is handled. The condo was clean, and it looked nice, but more attention should be paid to detail. Sometimes things need to be replaced. The shower in the master bedroom was unusable. In addition to it only having cold water, there was a sewage smell coming form the drain (not strong but noticeable by me). The shower door had not been properly attached in quite some time and came all the way off the first time I opened it; it had no screws to hold it in place. I had to take showers in the smaller bathroom. The toilet in the master bedroom continually ran until I opened the back and adjusted the plug inside the take. The pots and pans are old and look dirty; proper cleaning methods will keep them looking new. However, these need to be thrown away. One of them is so old (and has all of the nonstick coat scraped off) that it was totally unusable. The kitchen tools do not all work; it costs very little to get a working can opener. The shower curtain hangers in the small bathroom were rusted; again it takes little money to replace them. I understanding getting all the useful life out of stuff, but Silver Sands takes it to another level.

Location is good. this is the 2nd year in a row that when i get there I have to spend a half day cleaning. The patio furniture is junk. The grille is Junk. Front door & back railing need work & I have let Silver Sands Know about it numerous times & they do nothing about it. Service is not #1 priority to them for sure.

Reviewer Comments: Location was great, clothes dryer was not working from day one & took 4 day's to get it fixed, could not control the water temp in the kitchen, floors were very dirty & covered with long black hair I had to mop it 4 times. Patio furniture was junk looked like a dog had chewed on it, ceiling fans had not been cleaned for ages, every ledge had a thick layer of dust on it, the leather couch & 2 leather chairs were not comfortable at all, the front door leaked air terrible, master bed was fine, single beds in spare bedroom were so cheap the frames were junk, railing on back patio was broke. The overall condition & cleanliness was very poor.

Location and space was good. Beds were VERY uncomfortable (old) and couch was VERY old and worn as well as patio furniture. Toilet seat was cracked completely , no kitchen towels and floors were pretty dirty. Stains on pillows and some of the linens. Can't say that I will book again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was nice and roomy, but there were a few things that Silver Sands needs to hold to a higher standard. We knew we would not be close enough for an easy walk to the beach, so it would have been nice if the condo had better beds, a better balcony and upkeep on the furniture. I think that was the main issue - the beds were really hard and noisy to sleep on, the couch and chairs were not clean and the couch was dented and the patio furniture was rotting, so we really felt like everywhere we sat or laid down was uncomfortable.

Reviewer Comments: The furniture in this unit needs updating, the kitchen is stocked well enough to cook only the most basic meals, the master bed is squishy, and neither of the coffee makers (there are 2) works. There are no mats by either door, so it’s difficult to keep the floor clean, and the patio furniture is falling apart. Despite all of that, we enjoyed our stay because the AC worked, the unit was clean when we got there, there was plenty of hot water, and the unit is an easy cart or car ride to the beach.

Clean condo, quiet location, served the purpose

Overall, the property was clean and served its purpose. I gave the check-in process 4 stars. I arrived in the evening so used a lock code sent via e-mail. The lock code was incorrect, so after multiple attempts was locked out and could not get into the property. I attempted to contact the rental agency, dialed '0' for assistance because it was after hours, but never reached anyone. I checked my email again and noticed that I had another email from earlier in the day with a different lock code. Thankfully, that code worked. Here are a few things to consider before you stay here: 1. Beds---The bed in the master bedroom creaks extremely loudly. It is so loud that it will wake you up in the middle of the night if turning over in your sleep. It is loud enough that it woke my daughter up throughout the night who was sleeping in the other bedroom. The beds in the 2nd bedroom are hard as a rock. They are so hard you would have to weigh 500 pounds to make the mattresses sink at all (no joke). 2. Both showers---The faucets do not hold the temperature at which they are set. It feels like you're running out of hot water after about 3 minutes, so the water gets freezing cold, so you turn it all the way to hot and there is no temp change, then after about 30 seconds it immediately becomes scalding hot. Then you turn it back cooler, after another 30 seconds you get the right temp, and all of a sudden it's freezing cold again. Then it all happens again. There is no in-between...I tried multiple times. This proposes a serious safety hazard for younger children. If you have a young child, it is safest to just give them a bath. 3. Kitchen supplies---They are scarce. Plenty of basics (silverware, bowls, plates, drinkware) but otherwise you have to be creative. There are no measuring cups, very few pans, and no baking dishes. I had to use cookie sheets for baking dishes and flattened paper plates for cutting boards. There are knives, but you must choose from huge ones suitable for cutting a watermelon or serrated steak knives. Bring your own knives as well as a spatula. Be aware that there is no grill. The photos I received showed community grills. Also, the internet was out during our entire stay...not the property's fault as Spectrum was there trying to repair it but not in a timely manner. However the place was very clean and off the beaten path, so quiet (except for the dang bed).

Beds are a little hard and the TV is a pain to control. Pest control might need to be looked at. (roaches) With Harvey two years ago you would think a simple fence and siding would be repaired outside. Hose bibs were not working on ground level which made it very had to rinse off after the beach. Check in seemed to be a little overwhelmed. Main girl checking in people had it together and people tried to help that confused the check in. The app wasn't ever helpful. Still for the price not too bad.

We were joining another family staying in Port A and needed a condo near theirs so location and price were my top priorities. This was very short walking distance to the friends condo and short driving distance to restaurants and stores. The condo building is definitely a no frills deal...just a building and a parking lot. The interior of the condo has a nice design aesthetic and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Even had extra pillows and blankets. Kitchen was nicely stocked with good quality dishes/cooking equipment. I will say that the interior painting, while great colors, was very shoddily done but I am probably pickier than most. The exterior building has not been fully repaired from the hurricane but many other properties were in the same condition. The back porch is not usable for sitting outdoors as it is in the afternoon sun, is extremely close to the neighbors porch, has old worn out furniture and is is generally an unattractive area. When we arrived at the condo, we were not given the correct code for the door and had to get in touch with the management company after hours which took two phone calls on a Friday evening. It caused only a short delay and they were very responsive and apologetic. I have rented many, many condos over the years and this is the most professional management company that I have ever dealt with. Despite the comments on the condition of the building exterior and porch etc, I would definitely stay here again. And would be happy to use Silver Sands again.
