Welcome:
Grovemont Basecamp, nestled on the flanks of the Great Craggy Mountains in the tranquil Grovemont neighborhood of Swannanoa, NC, conveniently located between Black Mountain and Asheville. Grovemont Basecamp provides a unique experience to stay in a beautiful mountainous area, while enjoying the conveniences of the local hospitality and urban energy. Staying at our house, you don’t have to choose between a secluded mountain home or a place near all the Asheville-Black Mountain amenities. You can truly have the best of both worlds.
Arriving:
After ascending the front porch steps to your basecamp, you will be rewarded with mountain views. During your stay at Grovemont Basecamp, enjoy sitting on the front porch in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the sun rise, revealing the high mountain ridges across the valley. The mountain views continue from all three bedrooms and the living room. The front porch also serves as a wildlife viewing platform with brilliant blue birds, rabbits, chipmunks, the neighborhood “free-range” chickens, and the occasional black bear(s)!
First Floor:
Going inside, you will be greeted by a stylish open concept space, including living, dining, and kitchen areas. The living area includes comfortable seating for four to five people to gather and plan the day’s adventures, or play some vinyl on the provided record player. Enjoy breakfast at the eat-in island with four stools or the four-seat dining table. In the kitchen, you will notice all the amenities at home to prepare a full meal, or make another cup of steaming local coffee from a local favorite, Dynamite Roasters (just minutes down the road).
Moving to the first-floor primary bedroom, you will find a king size memory foam bed that gets rave reviews for its comfort. While you might be tempted to curl back up in bed, don’t forget this is only your basecamp for the many adventures Asheville and Black Mountain have to offer. You will appreciate the amenities in this bedroom such as the barndoor walk-in closet and the roomy bathroom with a glass enclosed shower and generous dual sinks. Before going upstairs, you will notice the convenient half bath that really comes in handy for the many guests that can stay here.
Second Floor:
As you climb the top of the stairs, you will notice a real surprise for this house - a bonus room, complete with a modular and adaptable sofa that sleeps up to two, a TV, board games, and an amazing foosball table. Turning around, you, will see both bedrooms conveniently open to the bonus room. The first being a queen size memory foam bedroom with a walk-in closet, and a convenient desk and workstation for those seeking a quiet place to work in a beautiful setting or complete one’s journal entry from the day’s adventures.
Walking into the third bedroom, known as the “Bunkroom”, you will find a fun place for children (or children at heart) to rest in the twin-over-full bunkbed that also includes a trundle bed, providing sleeping options for 3-4 people.
Walking out, you notice the second full bath and the laundry room with a new washer and dryer, perfect for those dirtier adventures you may experience in the mountains and on the trails.
Backyard:
Going back downstairs, you notice a glass backdoor that leads to a peaceful green hillside and deck with a mid-century table, seating for four people, and a gas grill to feed those hungry explorers returning to basecamp. You will also find a dedicated firepit area with four Adirondack chairs and an amazing Solo Stove wood burning firepit, engineered to keep the smoke away from guests while enjoying the campfire. From this area you can also enjoy mountain views in the distance.
