**Newly Renovated, Convenient & Quiet**
This is a quiet residential area and our 1000 sq ft 2BR/1BA unit has only one attached unit next to it. Its a single floor unit and there's no stairs inside the house. We are in the front while the neighbor is in the back. The two units are separated by two single car garages so there is no shared walls to bedrooms or common areas. Therefore, you cannot hear the other unit (though sometimes you do hear their laundry machines if you are in the garage). This unit was recently renovated and majority of the furniture are new. The neighborhood is quiet and its very easy to park along the street or on the driveway. Note that the driveway is shared with the other attached unit.
****FRESH LINENS BETWEEN EVERY RESERVATION: We use duvet covers only and not comforters so that we can change to fresh duvet covers between *every* reservation on top of changing all sheets, pillow covers, and bed covers.
I personally like the smell of fresh linens and clean sheets, so I want to make sure my guests have that as well.
****PARKING: This is a residential neighborhood. You can park in the designated area of driveway or along the street. Note that the driveway is shared with the other unit attached to this unit. You park on one side of the driveway and the neighbor parks on the other side. Please park no more than one car on the driveway. If you have a large/wide car, please park in front of the house on the street so the neighbor can also back up their car. There’s plenty of parking on the street and in front of the house.
****AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT: Brand new nest controlled AC and Heat available.
****CONVENIENT LOCATION: Walkable to shops and restaurants including groceries (Lucky), pharmacy (CVS), Peet’s, Chipotle, banks, and other restaurants. Quick drive to Hwy 17 and 85.
****QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD: This is a quiet residential area but close (one plaza is walkable about ~10min) to everything you need such as groceries (Lucky and Wholefoods) , pharmacies (CVS), restaurants, and many shops.
**Please note on the following: - Landscapers and gardeners come every other Tuesday morning. So you may see them around if you happen to be staying during the time they come. - Some small furniture pieces, decorations, bed sets may differ from the photos due to damages, replacements, or improvements in order to make your stay more comfortable.

We live out of state and had to stay in the area for my husband’s kidney transplant at Stanford. This was our first time using VRBO and are host made the process easy for us with detailed instructions and communication. The house was great and we felt at home right away.

Medical Stay to visit to UCSF
This property worked for our needs, however, the shower is very small, and it would have been helpful to have some printed instructions for the TV service. Also, the sheets on the bed are worn-out and the mattress cover makes the bed very hot and uncomfortable.

I am pretty saddened to see Linda’s review especially after a perfect 5 star for our location before she stayed. Linda stayed only 11 days but the three reviews before her all stayed long term (about 1-2 months) and all left 5 star reviews. My listings on other sites also have excellent reviews.
From the beginning I knew Linda prob isn’t the most ideal guest because she only had 3 to 3.5 stars on her profile. However, we felt bad because she was in town for a medical procedure and my unit worked well for her so we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt by accepting her. We started actually regretting this decision after Linda started making changes to her booking after confirmations and making various requests. Even then, we still decided not to cancel her booking since then it would cause a financial strain on us if left empty.
****Linda turned out to be one of those guests frankly we would’ve preferred to leave the unit empty****
Upon checking in, she sent an email requesting tons of extra items: towels, kitchen towels … etc. She was staying 11 nights for 2 people. You would think 4-5 bath towels is already enough? In fact, usually we leave 2 towels per person. We went by the place and dropped off a bunch of extra supplies for her late around 10PM. We all have young small kids and had late meetings. We went out of our way to try to gather things for her and make it to the unit in the middle of the night.
A bit after the check in, they also complained that the TV did not work. Actually these are Roku TVs with Roku remotes.
They did not know how to use Roku TV and started saying that there is no printed guides on how to use TV.
Actually, in the years and years of doing short term rentals, we’ve never had any printed guides —> this is NOT environmentally friendly.
We actually have digital links to “How to use Roku TV” in our check-in instructions which Linda and her husband failed to view. I even sent this guide in an attachment via email to her. But they continued to suggest a “printed” guide. Nobody prints these days as that’s not environmentally friendly and cannot be updated real time. Everything we do is digital. Our G00gle slides and links to all the guides were included in the check-in instructions. She did not review them, even after we emailed and sent to them again.
It was unfortunate that one of the two Roku TV remotes was out of batteries for some reason even though we changed out the batteries. Prob the batteries we put in were bad in one of the remotes. We check everything but things do happen. Because of this Linda’s husband started shouting at us on the phone, which was entirely uncalled for.
I have no problem with people who do not know how to navigate online digital slides or Adobe PDFs or links and I am happy to send them these links again and again should they be needed. However, we do not appreciate guests who shouts at their hosts. Yes they shouted at us. Linda’s husband was SHOUTING and YELLING at us on the phone about how the TV was not working and how we did not check the unit. I actually called VRBO on this and told them we don’t want to host these guests anymore as they are extremely rude and we’re shouting at us. VRBO suggested that best we try to see if it will be better as it could be disruptive to their travels. Again, we felt bad as they were in town for a medical procedure so decided to keep the booking. Thankfully, Linda was ok after this.
There are actually two Roku TV remotes in the unit, the other remote worked perfectly fine. Linda and her husband did not even try to use the other remote.
We’ve been been doing short term rentals for 6+ years now with our relatives and together we manage all of our rentals. This is the first time we’ve encountered someone who did not know how to use Roku TV, which is ok….. but it’s also the first time that someone demanded a printed TV guide.
We had to send someone in the middle of the night there to the unit just to change out the batteries of the TV remotes and show them how to use Roku TV.
I am a bit surprised about Linda’s comment on the tub as we have a standard 5X3 tub yet that was too small for Linda. There are photos of the bathroom in our listing.
We even have a 3D tour of the unit in the listing. Linda should not have booked our place if our bathroom/tub was too small for her.
All of our sheets and inserts are new and professionally cleaned. None of our guests had issues.
Although we are still new on VRBO we have toooons of really high reviews on other sites.
Not to mention, as we can see on the VRBO review prior to Linda, people were very appreciate of how detailed and organized we are with our instructions. If Linda actually read all the details then her issues would’ve been avoided.
I would really highly recommend Linda to not book on VRBO anymore because these are rentals by owners and we cannot provide the concierge services that they require. We have little kids and work full time and cannot provide the concierge services that they require.
Looking on the bright side, if all Linda can say about my unit is no printed TV guides and how she thought the tub was too small….. perhaps it’s great!!!! I just wished she would actually comment on the good things?? Things such as how the unit is very clean and well stocked, easy parking … etc.
Great house in quiet neighborhood close to all conveniences
I rented Veronica and Judy's place for my parents and in-laws for their staggered visits spanning a month. The 2-bedroom property was perfect for their stay.
It was very clean, everything worked properly, and everything was as described in the listing. The kitchen is also stocked with the necessary cooking utensils, plates, pots, etc. which was very convenient for a long-term stay. We are locals that live 5 minutes away and know that the neighborhood is safe and quiet. It's also a 10 minute walk to the grocery store, bank, pharmacy, and various restaurants in the Camden Park shopping plaza. If you have kids, there's a playground 5 min walking distance at the Camden Community Center.
Veronica and Judy are excellent hosts. They are very responsive, answered all questions promptly, and are very proactive. We had a series of storms before check-in that blew out some power lines. The hosts proactively notified us and kept us updated of the situation, offering alternative solutions (although luckily we didn't need them). They are also very organized. Everything is labeled in the house so you can figure out how to use things right away. They provided detailed check-in and equipment use instructions with pictures which helped my parents out greatly.
We're glad to have found this place close to ours and would love to rent again when our folks are back.
