Lovely apartment, very bad area, poor communication

The apartment was clean, nicely appointed, and exactly as represented in the listing. I chose it because it had the right number of beds and looked clean. I had not done my due diligence to understand that it is located in a very rough area of the city, but that was not the owner’s fault. I did have very poor communication from the owner, who did not respond to my messages through the vrbo system several days in advance and even on arrival day only wanted to contact me by phone. I had typed a number incorrectly so they could not reach me by phone, and I therefore had no arrival instructions for two hours after check-in time. I was in the process of escalating a complaint through vrbo customer service when the information arrived through the proper vrbo messaging system. So do prepared for that if you choose to book. That being said, it was a nice space for the price.

Cute place.

Cute little apartment walking distance from good coffee shops and some nice buildings. Although a bit long, still walkable to Plaka and Acropolis areas. The outside of the place looks a bit sketch, but inside it was super cute and cozy and during the day felt safe walking around. Host is great. Easy to communicate with and fast replies.
