Please come join us at our lakefront log cabin located on beautiful Lake Bob Sandlin in the Piney Woods of East Texas near Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg.

We offer peace, quiet, nature, relaxation...perfect for family fun or romantic getaway. Enjoy the view and sounds of nature but with all of the modern conveniences.

Our special place is nestled among tall pine, maple and hickory trees in a quaint, private setting…the perfect retreat to relax and unwind away from the frantic pace of city life, while getting reacquainted with nature. From fishing, water skiing, sunbathing, swimming, hiking, nature walks, biking and more – it’s right outside the window of our cozy home. Perfect for your family, friends or that special someone to create memories in an extraordinary environment. Great for quilt and scrap booking retreats… and don’t forget our fishing tournaments.

You will want to rise-n-shine early in the morning to enjoy your coffee on the back porch or deck while enjoying the 210 degree view of the lake. Grab your paper or fishing pole and head down to our private dock to relax in the rocking chairs to witness the sunrise as the lake comes to life. Lake Bob Sandlin is approximate 10,000 acres with a 120 mile shoreline known for its trophy fishing and an abundance of ducks, coots, heron, and other birds. During the winter months, we have two bald eagles that resides on the lake. Let’s not forget the raccoons, squirrels and deer! Fishing, boating or just lazy relaxing in one of the dock or lakeside lounger...or a hammock. Grab your favorite book, enjoying spectacular views of the lake and take that snooze. Plenty of antique shops and places to eat in nearby Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg…just minutes away.

Our two story log home has a vaulted ceiling with a stone fireplace…and stands tall on its authentic style stone foundation with impressive views of the lake. Featuring 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, our 1500SF cabin is complimented by 1000SF of decks and porches as well as a 1200SF boathouse. Our woodsy cabin features custom stained glass, vintage art and handcrafted log furniture. The sun gleams through the stained glass windows adding color, light and coziness of our home. The dining area is open to the fully equipped kitchen with all stainless steel appliances including refrigerator, ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and blender with the washer and dryer located in the utility room. The large breakfast counter/food prep area is highlighted by mosaic depiction of the Texas Flag while discretely tucking away a complete entertainment center that includes TV, You Tube TV, Netflix, DVD and Video Game System … with a small assortment of music, movies and games. Yes, we offer Wi-Fi. If by chance it rains, the perfect place is on the back porch as the rain hits the tin roof.

Each of the 3 bedrooms is furnished with comfortable queen size beds and smart televisions. The mattresses are newer and include plush, hybrid and memory models. The downstairs master bedroom offers antique furnishing and a wonderful view of the lake…a perfect view to wake up to. The two bedrooms upstairs, one with lake view and the other with a view of the tree tops. Our property is perfect for a couple, family or a friends weekend away and sleeps 6 comfortably (3 queen beds). Up to 8 guests are permitted but extra fees apply. Note, extra guests are typically kids that bunk in sleeping bag and bring an air mattress. Our place may not accommodate 8 adults.

Ready for romance? For adults, during cool weather months only, we have a hot tub on the rear deck perfect for nighttime use while stargazing. Please note, due to hot weather and service schedules, the hot tub is closed from May 1 through October 1. Due to the nature of hot tubs, we cannot guarantee the operation of the hot tub during your stay. Thank you for understanding. During the winter months, you can nestle by the fireplace or make s’mores while enjoying our new lake side fire pit entertainment area that features chairs, loungers and lighting. Fire pit is opened during cooler months only and is closed during May 1 - October 1 period. Please see rules for details.

In the past couple of years, all of our lives have changed. Many are working remote or have the option to. We offer high speed internet that will allow you to stream TV or clock in some office hours if needed. We also have a laptop desk in the master bedroom so you can set up shop and still gaze at the lake. The internet is strong enough to work on the back porch or deck. Our cabin will allow you the flex time needed to enjoy yourself while logging in some productivity.

Please note. We aim to please. We communicate immediately. Our goal is to make your stay repeat worthy and to gain a 5-star review from you. Anything less, tells us you were not happy. When you arrive, please contact me with any questions.

We keep a very clean home and provide cleaning and safety essentials on site. We encourage our guests to help us maintain a clean property throughout your stay. Our cabin offers a rustic feel with antique decor throughout. Our place has some modern features indoors, but outdoors is all about nature and that's how we love it. If you are seeking a 5-star hotel and are spooked by spider webs, annoyed by leaves, don't like the sound of nature...our place may not fit your needs. If you seek peace and quiet from the city and enjoy wildlife...this is the place.

Please read and understand our revised guest and cabin rules. Not abiding by the rules may forfeit your deposit and require an early departure. The guest who paid through VRBO must be present during the dates reserved. Under no circumstances, shall the renter reserve and pay for the rental, fees and deposits for some other than themselves. The cabin rules are lengthy but common sense to protect the property and provide you with a safe environment. No pets, smoking or vaping. Do not exceed the number of guests (max 8, day or overnight) as listed on your reservations. More than the number listed in your Vrbo booking request must be edited in Vrbo and resubmitted. Please read the departure checklist for requirement prior to departure. If you have any questions, please contact me. Due to our home having steps, pathways, spa, seawall, pier, dock and other features…our home is not elderly, infant or ADA friendly. Please be aware of this prior to booking our home and during your stay.

As you know in Texas, weather varies each day. From heat and cold to rain and ice, we get it all here. If you feel weather may adjust your plans, please check the local weather and plan accordingly.
