About this property

Skolfield Inn | Parking | Self-check-in | Garden 3

Welcome to The Skolfield Inn!

ROOM 3: Overlooking the gardens, this room sits in the back of the home and gets great afternoon light. Relax on the chairs or watch the sun set from your bed, this spacious room fits all your needs.

One off street parking spot is provided for compact/small vehicles.

Built in 1895, this John Calvin Stevens home still has many original features unique to the famous architect. Commissioned by John T. Skolfield, the single family home was converted to an inn and opened for business in 2019.

We are located in the West End, just over a mile southwest of the Old Port in the historic neighborhood known for its elaborate Victorian-era architecture. Our neighborhood offers you the tranquility of the Western Promenade, an 18-acre park offering scenic views and walking paths, in tandem with a host of popular restaurants and cafes, all within easy walking distance. The neighboring Arts District and Old Port offer plenty to explore on foot, including museums, art galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and bars.

With just four guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay, satisfying social guests or those seeking solace. Each private room is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (no cable, just smart TV with Netflix account), white noise machine, and a reading chair (or couch depending on the room).

Off street parking is available, cannot support larger SUVs/trucks, and being competent in reverse is a plus! For those with large vehicles, street parking is readily available in front of the inn from 4pm-10am for overnight guests (outside these hours are hourly restrictions). A half mile away is residential street parking which is free and has no hourly restrictions for those staying longer than a night.

About the host

Host profile image
My husband and I started renting our one bedroom apartment on another hosting platform while traveling out of state. Before long, we had fallen in love with hosting travelers and knew we wanted to take it to the next level by hosting full time.

After years of working at a wonderful property management company in town, we now own and manage our apartments and two small boutique hotels. We pride ourselves in customer service and do everything in our power to make sure our guests have the best stay possible.

We enjoy spending our spare time with our daughters, preferably traveling, whether it's by car, boat, plane, or train.

Safe travels!
