About this property
Mid-Century Modern Retreat on Private 10 Acres with 1-Acre Pond & Nature Trails.
Escape to this serene, mid-century modern retreat on a private 10-acre estate featuring a 1-acre pond, lush woodland trails, and beautiful views. Guests have exclusive access to 2,300 sq ft across two light-filled levels with hardwood floors, two bathrooms, three cozy bedrooms, and a spacious work/study loft – ideal for business travelers, remote work, family vacations, romantic getaways, and nature retreats. Perfect for those seeking a peaceful and stylish retreat surrounded by nature.
MIDLAND AREA: We are located just seven minutes from downtown Midland and there are multiple recreational outdoor opportunities in the area and a number of good coffee shops, and restaurants. Frequently visited places include The Chippewa Nature Center (5 minute drive), Dow Gardens and the Canopy Walk (longest canopy walk in the US), the Piere Marquette Rail Trail, Midland Center for the Arts, Dahlia Hill garden and museum, The Loons baseball stadium, etc.
ROOMS AND FURNISHINGS: The house has a roomy main living area with comfortable seating. The three bedrooms include beds of the following sizes: a king in the master bedroom, a queen size in room 2, and a queen size bed in room 3. The dining table seats six people (8 if needed), and the bathrooms both include a tub/shower combination. A wash room with a counter for folding clothes and a washer/dryer are available for your convenience. The kitchen is furnished with custom cabinets, a full-size stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, coffeemaker, dishes and utensils.
GARAGE PARKING: Guests will also have access to in-garage parking with two stalls if needed for inclement weather. Overflow parking is available in two paved parking areas.
ARTWORK, ARCHITECTURE, & OWNER: The home is full of artwork and photography, created by the owner and host, Clark Most. Clark is a graphic designer, photographer-artist and architectural enthusiast who designed and built the home in 2006-2007, and you can learn about some of his work with a simple search on your computer.
INTERACTION WITH OWNER: Clark, the property owner, is often out of town. When he is in town, he may access the lower level, which is completely separate from the upper level and has its own entrance. He also has another nearby home where he often stays. Clark respects your privacy and will avoid contact unless initiated by you. If you do need to reach him for any reason, he is happy to help.
Most guests never meet Clark, but he is always glad to say hello and enjoys chatting if you’re interested.

Clark Most:
I am a Midland native who grew up across the street from our home, and love being out in nature, tending the property and making art. I like to hike up mountains and am a "highpointer", working my way across the country hiking up the highest points in each state (my profile photo is from the top of Guadalupe Peak, Texas). I am also a photographer. You can visit my website at: clarkmost (dot) com.
My wife Lynne and I are graphic designers who run a graphic design business called 'Design Direction, LLC., and I am a professor at Central Michigan University where I teach graphic design.
