Adequate
The property owners did not get the door code to us so we were unable to get in the property upon arrival so we stayed in a hotel the first night. The hotel cost will be reimbursed and we are in the process of that now. So far so good working with VRBO. The interior was clean and adequate- warm with a nice and hot shower. Interior needs updated a bit- needs in and outdoor maintenance. There was no king bed and small queens which created issues with two adults but we slept in two separate comfortable beds. Exterior isn't well kept. It was very plain- nothing quaint or appealing about it- old house but loved the interior wood work and wooden floors. Stairs to enter the house are steep and railing too low- dangerous for older people for sure and it was worrisome for me having had two knees replaced. Location is great. This property is best for sleeping only and exploring the Fox River area. Wonderful town. Interior was not comfortable and the TV had very few desirable channels. Expanding the channel options is needed. Exterior pictures were not shown which would have been helpful.

Great stay
The host was very attentive and communicative. This place was in such a great location and it had quite a bit to do walking distance. Had a cute park right next door and walking distance to the Fox River. We actually walked to breakfast one day. I really enjoyed our stay, we will definitely be back to stay again as we visit Illinois at least twice a year. Thank you for a great stay Cherwin, we really enjoyed our stay and we appreciate you for everything you did for us to make our stay so pleasant. Yes the place is older, but that’s what gives it the charm it has. Also, there is a screened in porch that sat in and had my morning coffee quite a bit as well. It also has a back porch that is covered and a little patio table out back. The yard was very well maintained and has a very nice driveway to park your vehicle. Again, thanks for everything Cherwin!!

Mixed feelings
This host truly worked with us Our travel plans changed 2x and they really worked with us. However, in the changes the family member living upstairs got confused and the house was not cleaned. But she rushed and washed the linens and got us set up to sleep. Overall, its a cute older home on a beautiful lot by the Fox River within walking distance to cute cafes and shopping. That being said, the lawn needed mowing and weeding badly and the porch was bare wood where paint was gone. There were things that needed upkeep ie. Screen door, back door, ceiling in shower. We only stayed there to sleep and because the owner was so accommodating i really cant complain. Its sad it has sooo much potential just a little tlc would work wonders.
