We needed to book pet-friendly lodging for a last-minute business trip to Puyallup. We stumbled upon this old church in Enumclaw and were in for a pleasant surprise. Our journey began navigating through a late winters storm. We landed at the old historical church immersed in snowfall and couldn’t have asked for a more cozy, welcoming, and hospitable stay. The vacation rental paired with the quaint and vibrant town of Enumclaw made for a special Valentine’s Day get away and our puppy’s 1st birthday.
The oldest church in Enumclaw, simply divine. We were greeted with locally made salted caramel, a fine personal touch from the hosts. The space was clean as a whistle. The gorgeous wood flooring and unique layout created a rustic feel. Pet-friendly gates, doggie beds, and a quaint back yard helped our puppy feel at home. Warm blankets, clean towels, and modernized appliances are a lovely addition. We enjoyed evenings curled up on the comfy couch with a good book and cup of coffee from the coffee hutch. Historical photographs of the church and its congregations give the visitor a sense of context and connection to the town of Enumclaw.
Every morning we enjoyed a walk in the quiet, peaceful streets with our puppy. We marveled at many of the vintage houses with added restorations and themes of white garden lights strung throughout the properties. Within walking distance, El Camino’s serves a fine Mexican lunch with enormous portions. Trapper’s Sushi prepared a generous selection of fresh sushi rolls so delicious we dined two nights in a row! I highly recommend ‘The Puyallup’ roll, a cooked, tempura variation. Also, The Magickal Earth, delightful to wander around, as we found souvenirs of stone bracelets w/ quartz and turquois stones as well as a travel size Tibetan singing bowl. The Sequel Books & Espresso bookstore offers a curated selection of used books and warm chairs to enjoy a sip coffee.
Thank you for a one-of-a-kind vacation rental experience at The Old Church of Enumclaw. We look forward to a return visit; enjoying the peace and simplicity of Enumclaw and relaxing in your little sanctuary.
