The Neighborhood:
In the foothills between the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the San Joaquin Valley, ten acres of wooded serenity surround a log-cabin style custom home that offers beautiful views of the peaceful setting. At an elevation of about 1,910 feet, the surrounding hills, peaks, and valleys ranging from 1,700 to 6,900 ft elevations create beautiful peaceful vistas in all directions. As you make your way down the long private drive from the road to the house, you’ll fall in love with the natural landscape and uniquely remote location.

It’s worth mentioning the science behind the property’s uniquely beautiful landscape. The Sierra Nevada foothills is a region known for its varied biomes, but this specific property is even more distinct. Geologically, the property is practically on the line between Sierra Nevada’s lower batholith and the metamorphic belt of the upper foothills. These different types of bedrock result in varying mineral deposits and soil types, which lend themselves to different types of vegetation. As a result, the property itself fosters FOUR separate state-sanctioned vegetation classes, each of which has its own diverse ecology. The outcome is a truly “wild” property that is habitable to an eclectic range of wildlife.

This property is only 15 to 20 minutes away from downtown Mariposa, and is about 25 miles from Yosemite's South entrance. There are many things to do nearby, including museums, historic buildings, amusement attractions, award-wining dining establishments of all types, and trails for hiking, mountain biking, and off-roading - just to name a few!

You may have come here for Yosemite National Park, but if given the opportunity, you're going to adore the rest of the area as well. Downtown Mariposa is charming and quaint, and has many annual events that you won't want to miss!

Our location is also central to several other parts of California that you may be interested in exploring - directly to the East is over a million acres of wilderness, trails, lakes, rivers, and recreational areas that are all part of the Sierra National Forest. It may feel like you're quite landlocked, but if you head West, you would actually reach California's beautiful coast in less than 200 miles, and many vacationers find it worth the drive for an excursion to check out San Francisco or Santa Cruz.

Other Things to Note:
There are 3 queen beds in each of the rooms, the 4th room has 2 twin XL beds, and there is also a queen sofa sleeper in the living room.

Video cameras are present on the property at the entrance and the driveway
