Welcome to Chickapoo Farm! The Coop is one of three homes available for rent within a 2 mile radius. This adorable little 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is located in Shelbyville, KY and is the perfect place to come relax, unwind, and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There is a hiking trail as well as a stocked pond on the property that our guests are welcome to enjoy. Hi there! We know how excited you must be for your upcoming getaway so we wanted to try and make it as smooth and easy as possible. Here are some popular questions we have been asked in the past. Please feel free

CAN I CHECK IN EARLY?
We do our very best to make sure the cabin is ready for our next guests. If you need a check-in earlier than 4pm, there will be a $50 fee.

CAN I USE THE POND?
You will have access to a pond on the walking trail. You may fish but we ask that you catch and release. Swimming is not permitted.

WHAT GROCERY STORES ARE THERE?
There is a Walmart and Kroger in Shelbyville. You can purchase your favorite alcoholic beverage at Cox’s Spirit Shoppe, located close to the I64 exit onto SR 55. There are other locations in Shelbyville as well: Kroger Wine & Spirits, Save A Lot, and Liquor World.

HOW DO I CHECK IN?
THE COOP has a code to use to check in. You will receive a detailed message through the app a day or two before your stay with cabin address and directions.

IS THERE WIFI AVAILABLE?

Quiet and peaceful

Another amazing property to get away from the hustle of everyday life. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful setting that this property is on. The house may look small but with the game room in the basement and large yard in the back there was plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and relax. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Kentucky. Thank you for an amazing place to stay!

Perfect!

This cozy little house in the hills of Kentucky sits far from the road on a horse farm. The fire pit area was our favorite place to relax. So peaceful! There is a flower garden and for a small fee you can pick a beautiful bouquet. The countyside is gorgeous and the serenity is pure bliss. 5⭐️

Cozy and comfortable

The house was cozy and comfortable and the backyard was like a scene from Bambi with all the birds and wildlife. Would definitely stay again.

Hello! Thanks for taking an interest in our rural homes for rent. My husband, three children and myself live on a farm very close (but not too close) to the properties that we host where we have horses, cattle, chickens and a few hogs. We are nature lovers and prefer to be outside whenever possible. Hiking, camping, fishing, horseback riding, and canoeing/kayaking are some of our favorite things to do. We feel blessed to live in such a beautiful area and look forward to sharing it with you!

Why they chose this property

We are located in Shelbyville and are close to Kentucky’s infamous Bourbon Trail. There are numerous distilleries and wineries within a one-hour drive. Three of which are located right in town.

Shelbyville is also known as the American Saddlebred Capital of the World. There are several equine events in the area and Chickapoo Farm would be a great home base for anyone participating or attending these events.

Along Main Street in Shelbyville, you will find several cute shops and restaurants. Make sure to visit and support these local establishments during your stay.

We are a working farm. The sights and sounds of farm life are all around. Our guests can enjoy viewing a variety of farm animals and wildlife during their stay. There is also a hiking trail as well as a stocked pond on the property that our guests are welcome to enjoy.

Our unique location offers an experience far beyond that of a typical vacation rental or hotel, and our peaceful farm provides a welcome retreat from the rest of the world. Fall back to a simpler time and feel the stress melt away at Chickapoo Farms in beautiful Shelbyville, Kentucky.
