Family Thanksgiving Getaway
The property is amazing, very roomy and comfortably fit our extended family of 12 and we hosted Thanksgiving dinner for 19 total. Tons of room to gather, eat, wonderful outdoor seating areas and even some short walking trails. Overall we had a really great time.
Some things that weren't ideal:
1. Microwave was broken -- with an extended group of 12 over the holiday weekend, this was challenging when trying to heat up food or leftovers for the group.
2. Cleaning supplies in the kitchen were practically non-existent. Dishwashing liquid and counter spray bottles were practically empty, there were only ~ 8 trash bags stocked, half a roll of paper towels. We ended up buying our own products just to keep the place cleaned up after ourselves.
3. For 3 bathrooms and 12 people staying 5 days, we had only 5 rolls of toilet paper and single bath towel and wash cloth per person (on our beds). Both of these were challenging and by the 3rd day we had run out of TP and had to go run to the store to buy our own. Given the property is on a septic tank this seems risky to leave TP purchase up to guests.
4. Washing machine cycle knob broken - Seemed as though only one cycle (whites) worked on the knob when doing laundry.
5. Gas powered fire pit on patio was broken, the connection from the tub to the valve was broken and when we attempted to turn the gas on we immediately were overwhelmed with gas smell in the area. We promptly turned it off and thank goodness didn't have open fire.
