About this property
A home on the park
Experience Mendoza in this fully renovated, stylish home located in the heart of the Quinta Seccion neighborhood. Located across from San Martin park and just a short walk from two of the city's main thoroughfares: Av. Emilio Civit and Av. Aristides Villanueva which host numerous restaurants, coffee shops, bars, designer stores, wine shops, and specialty retailers. This area of Mendoza marks the pulse of the city and you'll be just steps away from it all, enjoying a posh, contemporary retreat.
Enjoy this home away from home that we have recently remodeled and renovated.
Entertain - Open one of those bottles of wine you picked up on your winery tour as you cook a meal in the fully equipped chef's kitchen. Too tired to cook? We offer an optional in-home chef on request to cook some local dishes just for you and your friends. Not in the mood for a fancy nosh? Food delivery in Argentina is fast and inexpensive and it offers a wide array of options, just use Uber Eats like you would at home or the even faster Pedidos Ya app.
Relax – Sip some wine in the living room while watching a movie or your favorite tv show on the large wall mount smart TV with Dolby Atmos capable sound bar which you can also connect to on any of your Bluetooth capable devices. Read a book in the side gallery or the balcony. Or, retreat to the third bedroom, setup as another television room where the couch doubles as a sofa bed.
Work – While we hope you are joining us on vacation, for those of you who cannot reschedule work or for the ever growing army of digital nomads we have set up a large monitor and printer. Our home also features two dedicated routers that each run a 500mbps internet connection (Lan & WiFi) on fiber optic cable. So, no meeting is too far to attend and no file is too large to upload.
Packing light - The kitchen annex offers a full walk-in pantry and laundry room, so you can just bring the basics and enjoy your time here.
Included in your stay is your airport pickup on arrival and drop-off at departure which is part of your key pickup and return process.
This full floor apartment has been in our family since it was built over sixty years ago. It was designed by the famous local architect Panelo Gelly -who also designed the local police headquarters and several iconic local homes and public buildings-. The design was influenced by American Mid-Century Modern and Brazilian Tropicalismo architecture and it incorporates oriental influences so popular in the 1950's and 1960's such as the original pagoda style bar stools and meso-American influences like the Mayan inspired shield and columns outside the lobby.
We hope we have succeeded in creating a comfortable home that balances original features we loved with modern amenities and furniture that evokes the period. We maintained many original features such as the bedroom herringbone floors, Brazilian wood built-ins in the bedroom and the living room bar shelf unit, the teal leather bar and bar stools, and the stone living room wall.
The Neighborhood
Quinta Seccion is one of Mendoza's oldest, most sought after neighborhoods. Home to a large number of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and a variety of retail stores, the area is also host to some of the cities most exclusive sports clubs where you can play tennis, golf or watch Mendoza's first league team (Godoy Cruz a.k.a. "La Lepra") host visiting rivals. The place of choice for several foreign consulates and private NGO's Quinta Seccion boasts both an aristocratic pedigree and a forward thinking spirit that permeates all of the city and the province. The same spirit that has transformed Mendoza into a leading global force in the wine industry and a proud member of the world's Great Wine Capitals network.
Getting Around
Getting to Mendoza is easy. The city is connected non-stop to some of Latin America's main hubs (Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Panama).
Getting around Mendoza is even easier. You may purchase a SUBE card at any convenience store and load it to be used in any of the city's vast network of public transportation. Mendoza is also one of the few cities in Latin America that has approved the operation of UBER as well as the local, more popular app Cabify. Once you try them, you'll be surprise by how easy and inexpensive it is to get around.
For those of you who prefer more advance planning we offer the option of a driver by request not just for your transfer to and from the city's airport, but also to get you around town.
