Amazing view to the golf course!! This is a great house for family and friends. Located in exclusive community of Los Almendros in Hacienda Pinilla. With access to beach club, golf course, tennis, mountain bike trails, surfing and more. House is very spacious, 3 Bedroom with en-suite bathrooms, half bath in common areas. Large living room and dining area. Kitchen has all high end appliances, fully equipped. Floor to ceiling glass doors that bring the outdoors indoors. Great terrace and pool. BBQ

The beach club access was the only positive aspect of this property. Unfortunately, the house itself was in very poor condition. The interior was dirty, floors didn’t appear to have been mopped, the house was dusty, and some beds did not have freshly changed sheets and bathrooms were missing towels. The pool was so dirty we couldn’t use it, and the outdoor furniture was in a dilapidated state. There were also multiple maintenance and safety issues: the master bedroom sliding door would not lock, the main refrigerator never cooled below 77F despite following the provided instructions, and the master shower would not drain.Overall, the property fell far short of expectations due to serious safety, cleanliness and maintenance problems.

Really enjoyed the location, however the place could have definitely used a deep clean. The appliances are definitely a bit dated, and all of the kitchen pots/pans etc could probably be tossed out and replaced. Additionally there is a huge crack at the front door that allows geckos, bugs, etc to make their way into the home.All of this aside their concierge Joustine was super punctual, any issues we addressed were handled in a timely manner, and the location truly is wonderful!

Wonderful!

Really wonderful home that has everything you would want for an amazing vacation. Rented a golf cart and that was great for the kids to get around. Beaches are all within 5 minute drive. Great pool, great open layout, comfortable beds. Just great all around.

Amazing stay in Costa Rica

We had an amazing stay in Costa Rica and this property surely contributed to our satisfaction! The house was just perfect! It is spacious, clean and really well equiped. We were 10 (6 adults and 4 children) and had plenty of room for Everyone. We loved that we all have a bathroom in our bedroom. The backyard was perfect to. The pool is big and well maintained and There is plenty of shadows so that se could enjoy the outdoors without beeing to hot! We had no issue with bugs or critters in the house. Also, the house manager was really helpful and quick to respond and send someone over when needed. Fibally, the house is well located, close to lots of beaches and downtown Tamarindo. The area is also really secured! We loved our stay and Would surely recommend that house. We have no negative point to share about it. We are 100% satisfied! 🙂

Perfect family vacation

The house was exactly as pictured and was clean and functional. Joustinne was a great host and was responsive to our needs. Olga booked us a great atv/zip line tour. While I was concerned having read a recent review regarding ants/bugs in the house, we had zero issues other than a few of the smallest ants that showed up when we missed wiping down the counter or taking out the garbage. I’ve stayed in Costa Rica many times and this turned out to have the LEAST insects and critters of any stays. My wife and daughter are particularly concerned about bugs and there were zero complaints aside from some late night gecko chirping noise! The pool was great and was well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped including sealed containers to keep the ants from being attracted by our food. The fridge worked fine for us despite the complaints of others. The dishwasher does seem subpar but the bottom rack got clean and we were only there for breakfast so not a big deal for us. The outdoor couch and pool loungers were comfortable and there were always spots with shade or sun. The golf course setting is peaceful as the course doesn’t see too many players. The neighboring houses are not close and it was generally quiet and relaxing. The house is in a great location for a relaxing vacation. We went to the beach club almost daily and the staff there were great. Lots of good places to eat in nearby Avellanas or Tamarindo.

Nice place with some minor issues

Pros- Pictures accurate describe the house. We had six adults and had plenty of room, enjoyed the pool, parrot in tree every morning for breakfast, cooking in the kitchen every breakfast and dinner, outdoor shower was cool, comfy beds. Close to beach, Beach Club, golfing out back door, 20m to town. Joustinne, the host, was helpful and responsive. Cons- similar to prior reviews- Ants were a huge problem. It was our first trip to Costa Rica and we stayed in hotels & did not have issues. There was a constant line of ants coming in outlet and leaving through the door making their way through the back wall of the kitchen. If food of any sort is left out they will be in it. If not they just continuously do their tracking through house. Power went out and fridge did not come back on. Had to do the breaker and it turned back on in 5 or so min. Had to adjust the temp as it was not keeping food cold, but once those issues fixed it worked well. Dishwasher worked one time and then we hand washed dishes- that is a lot for 6 people two meals per day. Hoped it would have been fixed since it has been an issue. Could not get air conditioning unit in kitchen to turn down. Not a huge issue. Wind was an issue and took the cushions from chairs past the golf course and to the woods! Not something that can be prevented! Wish it had a cooler, better kitchen pans (teflon all peeling) , measuring cups, kitchen utencils. Olga, concierge, booked boating trip that was cancelled.

Unseen Property Negatives Future Renters Should Be Aware Of

This is a poorly maintained property. With all the positives that stand out in the property description and photos, there are many unseen negatives. PROS: Location, House Manager, Concierge, Security CONS: 1) Due to the poor property maintenance, we experienced INDOOR Ants (kitchen, eating area, ceiling, front door), Scorpions and Geckos. We purchased products ourselves to kill and manage the ants and scorpions. To manage the Geckos, we sealed the gaps in the front door using painters tape. Otherwise we we're constantly removing geckos from the house and bedrooms. 2) Kitchen Refrigerator does not keep items cold. The property manager described this as a “feature” of the refrigerator as it was designed to quit cooling for 1 – 2 hours whenever the door was opened. This is not true. The refrigerator needs repair and instead of fixing it, they installed a second refrigerator in the garage. To keep soda, beer, milk, etc. cold, you must use the garage refrigerator. 3) Dishwasher is not attached to the countertop. When the door is opened, the dishwasher falls out of the cabinet about 5 inches/12.7 cm. The property manager advised us to “be careful.” We used the dishwasher once and it does not clean the dishes well, so all dishes were washed by hand. 4) Linens need replacement, frayed, stained, seams ripped open, etc. CONCLUSION: We loved the area and people and hope to visit again soon. We just won’t be staying at this house.
