Pelican Beach House is a beautiful 100-year-old home that was completely renovated in 2023. Only two short blocks from white sand beaches in a safe and friendly residential neighborhood.
Open floor plan is perfect for socializing with your friends and family. You'll love the huge back deck with a pet-safe fenced yard.

YOUR HOST: Debra Hilgeman, owner/premier host, lives nearby and takes great pride in ensuring the best possible experience for every guest. She has four other FIVE-STAR beach rentals in the area: Flamingo Beach Cottage (VRBO 2024156) with 2 bed/2bath, Palm View Beach House (VRBO 2237338) with 3 bed/2 bath, Mermaid Beach House (VRBO 2659715) with 4 bed/3 bath, and Magnificent Magnolia Beach House (VRBO 3179963) with 3 bed/2 bath.
* SUPER CLEAN: Enhanced professional cleaning for every guest.
* GREAT LOCATION: Two short blocks to beach in nice, quiet and safe neighborhood. Close to Island View Casino, Beach Casino, downtown, Navy Base, Aquarium, parks, and Port of Gulfport with ferry boats to Ship Island.
* THINGS TO DO: Walk to the beach (and bring the dogs with you) and follow the boardwalk for miles, eat at the great restaurants downtown, play at the casinos, visit the new aquarium, golf at nearby courses, and enjoy all that the beautiful Mississippi Coast has to offer. West Side Park and waterfront Jones Park are nearby. Fishing piers and the Ship Island Ferry are also close by--take a memorable trip to an island with Civil War fort and beautiful island beaches and you'll probably see schools of dolphins following the ferry. Fishing charters are also close by.
LIVING ROOM and DINING ROOM: Great open floor plan with living room/dining room and kitchen. The living room has a large Flexsteel leather sofa and extra seating centered by the decor fireplace below the 60" smart TV. The glass top dining table by the kitchen seats six, and the granite kitchen island seats four. Bookcase by the fireplace has games and books. All hardwood flooring.
* KITCHEN: Fridge with icemaker and ice/water in door, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender, combo drip/Keurig coffee maker,14-cup drip coffee maker, toaster, and tons of dishes, pots/pans and utensils. Granite countertops.
* BEDROOMS: Three bedrooms. Master bedroom has queen bed and ensuite bath. Front bedroom has queen bed. Middle bedroom has two double beds. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
* BATHS: Private master bath has shower/vanity/toilet. huge designer walk-in tile shower with spa fixture, antique vanity with lighted glass mounted sink. Hall bath has Jacuzzi jetted tub/shower, vanity/toilet.
* TV & INTERNET: 60" smart TV in living room. Master bedroom has 32" smart TV for streaming and local programming. High speed unlimited WIFI.
* UTILITY ROOM: Washer/dryer and laundry supplies. Iron/ironing board.
* PORCH/PATIO: The front porch has a charming porch swing. The large wood patio in the back yard has an umbrella table that seats four, and plenty of additional seating. Six-foot wood privacy fence.
* PARKING: There is a private drive in the back that opens into the back yard gate for two vehicles. Lots of free, no restriction street parking also available.
* GAMES AND BEACH GEAR: Beach chairs, beach towels, board games and kid games inside. The patio storage bin on the deck has a corn hole game and yard croquet.
* DAY TRIPS: Exciting day trips to the New Orleans French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and plantation museums are less than a two-hour drive. Or, head east to Mobile and the battleship and submarine for a fun day trip.
* PETS: Pets are welcome but must be pre-approved by Owner. No puppies or aggressive breeds. $20 fee per pet per night. Two small dogs (under 30 pounds) or one large dog (up to 80 pounds). Sorry, but no cats due to allergies. Exceptions on a case-by-case basis as authorized by Host. If guests bring any unauthorized pet(s), the deposit will be forfeit. The cleaning company doesn't charge extra upfront for pet(s) but any evidence left behind (hair, messes, etc.) will result in extra cleaning fees depending on how much the cleaning company needs to do.
SMOKING: Outside only. Deposit will be forfeit if smoke smell detected inside house.
HOST SUPPLIES: All linens, towels, blankets, etc.. Shampoo/conditioner, bath soap, hair dryers, hand soap, kitchen soap, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies.
RENT TERMS: Nightly fee is based on 6 people (two per bedroom). For every additional person the cost is $20 per person per night. Maximum occupancy is 8 people. No charge for infants; all children count as guests. Deposit will be forfeited if there are unauthorized guests. Primary guest must be 25 or older. No parties or events.
SECURITY: There are outside security cameras for your safety and mine. This covers the front door and back door.
* TRAIN: A railroad track runs parallel to the beach along the Coast, so you may hear the train two blocks away. Locals are used to this and if you're close to the beach, you're close to the train tracks.
GUEST BOOK: The guest book has phone numbers and info on local attractions, shopping, day trips, emergency numbers, restaurant recommendations, and much more.

She specializes in historic renovations and takes pride in the details that make each home special. Her property manager, Angie Walsh, and her husband bought a 100-year-old house that Debra renovated and it was the beginning of a friendship and partnership with vacation rentals. Debra and Angie live near the homes so guests always have someone nearby, if needed.

The host is a long-time resident of West Gulfport near its beautiful beaches. Neighbors are friendly, and the location is central to everything--beaches, downtown, casinos and shopping.
What makes this property unique
Gulfport lost many of its historic homes in the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. That's why each of the remaining homes is special--they're survivors. Renovating them to add luxury modern conveniences gives guests a unique flavor of the Mississippi Coast and our Southern hospitality.
