About this property

The most common remark on entering the 1,000 sq foot apartment is WOW! Or Stunning! Located on beautiful Lake Michigan on Beaver Island. Gorgeous guest house with cherry wood flooring, high ceilings, Smart TV, pool table, fully-equipped kitchen, charcoal BBQ grill (charcoal supplied), and washer and dryer. We now have StarLink for HIGH SPEED Internet, which is uncommon on Beaver Island. Picnic tables, Adirondack chairs and fire pit on the shore. Absolutely breathtaking view of Lake Michigan and Garden Island. World class dark skies allow for amazing star gazing. Perfect spot to view Northern Lights. Two miles from town and close to sandy beaches.
One bedroom with a Queen size bed is ideal for two guests. There is a large couch with linens if you have a third guest or two small children. (No baby proofing is available.) The queen bedroom has room darkening shades for a good night’s rest.
The guest house is completely separate from the owners’ quarters. There are no shared walls. A very large garage separates the two homes. When you are are enjoying the waterfront, you will have it to yourselves.
Loons fly over the property frequently and their calls are magical. If you’re lucky, you might hear coyotes howling, but that is infrequent. You can bring or rent kayaks as well as stand up paddleboards. We do not have watercraft for your use. If you bring bicycles or kayaks, you can store them in the garage.
There is no smoking permitted inside. We take pride in our thorough cleaning and attention to detail. For example, we wash the blankets and quilts not just the sheets! Please book your stay!

A northern woods retreat

This vacation rental was spacious & cozy at the same time. It had a large closet in the bedroom & lots of shelves & hooks in the bathroom- not common in vacation rentals. The best part was the beautiful setting with trees, lawn & beach across the lane that was very well maintained. Trish & Steve were great hosts- available to answer questions & share info. We especially appreciated having a place to put our kayak out of the quick rainstorm that passed through one night.

Best vacation rental experience!

Fantastic property and outstanding hosts! Tricia was extremely helpful and gave many suggestions before and during our vacation that helped make it a wonderful experience. Wish we could've stayed longer! We're already looking forward to visiting the island, and this property, again!

Steve and I are retired but we volunteer on Beaver Island to support the community we love. We fell in love with Beaver Island the first week we visited in 1990. After just two days, we looked for property. The following year, we bought property and soon after built a small home on Cable Bay. We sold it last year when we bought our current home. We’ve been told by many people it is their favorite house on Beaver Island. We hope you love it as much as we do! We do have a very small, fluffy dog that is so cute that loves dog lovers but can be a bit wary at times. She is always under our control on a leash and most of the time in the house or on our boat. We spend many hours on our boat but we can still be reached there, by phone, for any questions you may have.

Why they chose this property

This property is so close to town, just two miles from the grocery store, so if you forget something, it’s no big deal. Having a waterfront park for your use is amazing! We will never join you on the waterfront, it’s yours whenever you want to enjoy it. It’s stunning! We are highly motivated hosts that aim to please. Beaver Island is so special for the solitude, peace and quiet that we all need. The property is on a very quiet road. In the height of summer, we may see up to 5 cars go by! That’s it! So close to town yet so quiet.

What makes this property unique

Frontage on Lake Michigan. Loons overhead, starry skies, peace and quiet. Beautiful, well-appointed guest house. We have made numerous upgrades to the space, We are very excited to have you come visit our paradise!
