Villa Almendro is one of four villas at Villas Solar. Situated on top of Plaza Solar, centrally located in Santa Teresa, you can view the lazy road of the town from your balcony, or escape to the back patio among the almendro trees. We are just a 3 min walk tot eh beach with the best waves in the area for surfing by far. Also a close walk to the supermarket and many restaurants. Villa Almendro shares the gardens and parking area of the other villas, with a communal rancho for chilling out. We offer concierge services and an on-site caretaker for security and convenience. Come and relax in our fully equipped villa just a few steps away from Costa Rica's most beautiful beach.

Santa Teresa getaway

I highly recommend Greg as a host and Villa Almendro as a comfortable place to stay in Santa Teresa. If you want to be close to the beach, shops and restaurants, without being smack in the center of town, you won't find a better location. I especially enjoyed laying in the hammock while being protected from the rain, which we expected during the green season. Very peaceful! Check in was super easy.

The perfect place in Santa Teresa!

The apartment was right off the main road. It was close to the beach, restaurants and all the action but also felt private and secluded as well. We heard some noise from the street but it didn't bother us at all at night. Greg is the best host you'll ever have. He helped us with every little thing and often came by just to check in. The property has a dog named Luna who is the sweetest and most affectionate dog you'll ever meet. I'm not a dog person and she totally won me over.

Perfect experience

This was my 7th time staying in Santa Teresa and this was my favorite property so far. Greg and his staff are super attentive and available at any time to help with requests- taxis, rentals, or to make recommendations on restaurants or activities. Luna is the sweetest dog ever. I would absolutely stay again and recommend it to any traveler.

Could Not Have Been Better

I am single mom that traveling with my two pre-teen boys from the States to Costa Rica. Not only was the room absolutely perfect, the location, staff and owners went above and beyond at ever turn. Greg set up our taxi in and out and was available ALWAYS to answer real time questions. His staff was amazing and made us feel safe, welcome and comfortable. Absolute must stay!

We had a very enjoyable stay at villa almendro

Greg the owner, took a deep and sincere interest in ensuring our stay at his villa was great! Right from the beginning Greg shared his cell number and encouraged us to let him know of our needs and questions. He is an excellent communicator and responds to every query promptly, honestly and clearly by phone, WhatsApp email or text. The villa met our expectations. The best part was having breakfast on the lovely deck looking at the forest while listening to the howler monkeys and tropical birds. During the dry season the main road in Santa teresa is dirty and dusty! The back veranda faces the hills -not the road, and was perfect. The ac works well and together with the ceiling fans we were kept perfectly cool. Greg ensured that the cleaning staff came twice during our week and cleaned properly. Water in Santa Teresa is not potable but Greg set us up with a large bottle of water (10 Gallons for a small charge.) The beaches in Santa Teresa are among the most beautiful in the world. At our request, Greg found a beach chair for us. Greg was correct in saying that many of the hotels will let you use their pool, hammocks and chairs if you buy a drink or meal at their restaurant. We found that to be the case at the lovely Tropico Latino located a 1/2 mile down the beach. Groups of dogs roam around Santa teresa but over all the town is safe. Greg takes safety seriously by securing the property and guest vehicles with a high fence and gate. A friendly caretaker resides on the property and is available to take care of anything should it arise. Greg was extremely conscientious and hospitable and really made our stay at the villa wonderful.

Amazing Santa Teresa Costa Rica vacation villa that you will love!

Looking for a quite , safe/secure ,comfortable, beautiful villa in the heart of Costa Rica - look no further. This villa has all the modern conveniences , includes outdoor living and is an easy 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach. Watching amazing sunsets at the beach will be your new tradition . Also, shopping, restaurants , grocery store are just around the corner from your home. The owner Greg is very helpful and kind. Be prepared to love this vacation get away. Enjoy!

Great spot

We stayed over samana santa with two adults; two kids and a dog! We had a great time. The condo was a great size and super close to everything. We walked everywhere - beach, shops, burger places! Greg was super helpful and had lots of dinner suggestions!

Clean, Cozy, Close to the beach

Villa Almendro (part of Villas Solar) is a great place. Greg and his staff are super nice and helpful. The apartment is super cute, very clean and secure. Also a plus it is very close to the beach! We ate out as we were only here for 2 nights but there is a fully equipped kitchen for meals and a well priced market close by. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Playa Santa Teresa!

Wonderful stay!

Two couples traveling together and we can't say enough about this wonderful Villa. When we arrived and Greg was there to meet us. After a quick tour we were on our way to the beach to catch our first sunset. Greg and staff were very helpful with all kinds of ideas for our stay! The apartment was very clean and walking distance to stores, restaurants and the beach was right across the street! The area was very safe and secure! We will return again for sure!

Our new home away from home!

What struck us most was the extent to which every detail was attended to and every effort made to make us feel completely at home! Greg and his staff (and yes, including the ever adorable Luna) have thought of everything. Their hospitality, assistance and guidance, the conveniences that one would expect and the little details such as an intimate place to BBQ, a comfy hammock to relax in and even reading materials to share in a little makeshift library were all very much appreciated; this place really has it all! We feel fortunate to have found this place and to have met Greg. During our stay in Santa Teresa, having this place to return to every evening truly felt like we were returning to our home away from home. Pura Vida Greg!

Beautiful spot in the heart of Santa Teresa!

We stayed in Villa Almendro at Villas Solar for almost 5 weeks this fall. Right from the start, our experience with Greg, Villas Solar, and Santa Teresa was amazing. Villa Almendro was much larger than we expected, with nice furnishings and amble room for our toddler to run around. The apartment was extremely clean (and continued to stay clean as Elisa came to change linens and clean every few days), the beds were super comfortable, the kitchen had all we needed to cook meals in, and the view from the back deck of the jungle (and quite often a family of howler monkeys) was stunning. The location couldn't have been more perfect for us - close to great restaurants and the grocery store, and about a 3 minute walk down a little path to the beautiful beach and the great waves. There is an outdoor shower to clean all the sand off after a day at the beach, and a rancho with seating and a BBQ for outdoor gatherings. We never felt that safety was an issue while staying at Villas Solar; there is a locked gate from the main road and on-site caregivers (Chino and Elisa) who do an amazing job at keeping the space tidy and welcoming. Greg was amazing at answering questions, making sure we were comfortable, and providing information on Santa Teresa and Costa Rica. We would definitely recommend Villas Solar to anyone wanting a great, comfortable, clean, centrally-located spot in Santa Teresa. And we will be back in the future for sure!

Santa Teresa’s Hidden Gem

As we browsed through the various options listed for our needs, Villas Solar always stood out. From the stunning photos to the impressive reviews - this was the one we kept coming back to. It was by far the best for our family on paper; and ultimately the best vacation our family has been on. From our first contact with Greg (the Owner and Manager of Villas Solar), via an e-mail asking about our future stay to even now (two weeks after our stay) he still response in a prompt and professional manner. Whether the communication was as simple as asking about laundry services, to taxi pick-ups, to arranging excursions for the day - Greg always responded back in the same timely manner. If the customer service prior to us even arriving at Villas Solar wasn’t enough; the overwhelming comfort, security, welcoming, and continued customer service was. From the time you enter the Villas through the security gate your senses are on overtime, taking in all the smells, views, and warm welcoming from Luna - the on-site puppy, who loves sitting and enjoying the morning coffee as much as you - to the on-site care takers of Chino and Elsa, who always go out of their way to give a smile or offer to help. After the welcoming, Greg still provides exceptional service by greeting you, walking you through the Villa (which we stayed in Villa Amapola for 13 nights), he provides any information about Santa Teresa, e.g. restaurants, surf shops, grocery stores, or laundry service. Greg checks-in everyday to ensure everything is good and you have no concerns; he’ll still take time out of his day to make any travel arrangements you may need. The Villas are well constructed, clean, and have all the amenities one would need to cook a meal or Bar-B-Que. The Villas are centrally located on the main road, which provides easy access to all Santa Teresa has to offer. A short walk to the beach, or to Super Ronny’s (local grocery store), or to any imaginable restaurant you want (Santa Teresa has some of the best food we’ve ever had on a vacation) Villas Solar will put you right where you need to be for an unforgettable experience! I would highly recommend Villas Solar to any and all, who want to experience Santa Teresa in the most comforting, the easiest, and the most enjoyable way.

Awesome Place, totally recommend!

Villas Solar exceeded our expectations! We thought it looked nice from the photos and the owner Greg was great to work with, very helpful and responded quickly to emails, answering all sorts of questions we had. Once we arrived we were blown away by how helpful Greg was and how lovely and clean the property and unit was. Greg was there to meet us and gave us a great tour of the property and detailed instructions about our unit. It was apparent that there is a lot of pride in ownership with this property, it is very well taken care of. We felt very safe and very comfortable. My husband and I traveled to Santa Teresa with our three year old and eleven month old and we were a little nervous about the unit and property being kid friendly. Our kids had a blast! We stayed in the two bedroom and it was really spacious! Way bigger than we expected it to be. It is so well maintained and very clean, we felt really good about letting our kids crawl around on the floor to play. It is located right on the main road that runs through Santa Teresa and is right across the street from a beautiful beach. We were easily able to walk to restaurants and the market. We rented ATV's and cruised around town on those and there was plenty of room to securely park within the gated property. There is a great juice/smoothie/sandwich shop and surf shop with rentals and supplies directly below the unit which was really convenient. The kitchen in the unit is fully equipped with a fridge and stove so we were easily able to cook meals at home. One other thing we were really impressed with was the construction of the buildings. We stayed in the duplex and that place is totally sound proof. We never once heard a peep from our neighbors or anything from the shops below. It was very private. The deck out front is amazing for eating, laying in the hammock and watching monkeys in the trees. We loved our stay and would recommend this property to anyone. Greg was amazing, so professional, and made us feel like we had a close friend in town. Can't say enough good things.

nice, clean and spacious!

we booked casa alemendro on-line with greg the owner and were very pleased with the apartment. it was much bigger than i expected and very tastefully decorated. the kitchen was open and well stocked for our group. the location is perfect, just a block from the beach and within walking distance to zwart cafe and ginger, two great breakfast spots. we enjoyed many nights on the patio and saw monkeys, birds and squirrels right from the table. i would highly recommend this accommodation and thanks to greg for his hospitality. hopefully we will be back!

Great Place!

My husband and I stayed at Villa Almendro and it was great. The house was comfortable and clean, as were the gardens outside. The owner and groundskeeper were extremely helpful and pleasant. We were able to bring our three dogs and the owner had no problem with them roaming on their property which was a huge relief for us. The house is safe, close the beach and restaurants, and just a bright place. We would definitely recommend this house and we would love to go back!

Awesome Place

We stayed at Villa Almendro and loved it. It was clean, comfortable, safe and centrally located. We would recommend this to families, couples, surfers. My teenager could walk to the surf shop and down to the beach on his own. It is right across the street from the surf, close to great restaurants and supermarkets. Our stay at Villas Solar was wonderful. Greg the owner was very helpful and accessible. There is WiFi which made my kids happy. We loved it and my husband is making plans to go back.

Villas Solar best place to stay in Santa Teresa!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Villas Solar for 2 weeks in villa Almendro. It was definitely a trip to remember in a good way! The villas are excellent, close to everything including beach with epic waves, coffee shops, restaurants, supermarket, and yoga! Secure parking and and very friendly caretakers. Greg the owner is awesome and was very helpful in recommending restaurants even helping us plan our trip back to the city. The rooms were super clean and were even cleaned during our stay. There are AC units in the bedrooms and living room, free wifi, and everything you would need in the kitchen to cook a great meal. We really enjoyed hanging out on the patio after a long day at the beach relaxing in the hammocks. All in all I don't think there is a better place to stay than Villa Solar and we will definitely go back there. Would love to move there some day!

Enjoyed Family Month Long Stay

Villa Alemendro and Villas Solar was a great for our family vacation. Great communication before, during, and after our stay. Newly constructed and in great shape. Great AC in all rooms when you need a break from the heat. Right next to the beach. Also, some additional conveniences within walking distance. I recommend staying here and would stay again if I come back to Santa Teresa.

Best Place to Stay in Santa Teresa and Mal Pais by FAR

I stayed at Villas Solar with my boyfriend for a relaxing, resort-free vacation, but yet the amenities of a true vacation. We didn't want to have to work for anything, but we didn't want to be on a resort with annoying games in the pools, etc. etc. We had an amazing time at Villas Solar. The owner was an amazingly gracious host and easily accessible. He had tons of advice to offer on the area and loads of connections. He even set me up with an amazing massage, where the therapist came to the Villa and gave me a massage in the privacy of the back patio of the Villa. All I could hear were the noises of nature. The Villa was so close to the beach, just a 3 minute walk across the street, so you could go early in the morning before it got too hot to be on the beach. Renting Quads to explore the areas around Santa Teresa would be ideal, because it is kind of hard to walk everywhere, but it IS possible. The caretakers of the home were gracious and stayed out of your way, so you had so much privacy. When we stayed there, we were the only people at Villas Solar. We felt completely safe, and taken care of. The place was immaculate, totally clean and had a really beachy feel to it. It was spacious and cool (the AC ran really well whenever you would want it to). The property was beautifully landscaped in the back with a view of the jungle like you would never see anywhere else. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone else, knowing that you are not going into a resort. There are tons of restaurants in town nearby and activities to do. We rented quads and took a trip to the waterfall at Montezuma which was easily the best part of the trip. Watching the sunset from the beach with a bottle of wine was also a great part of being so close to the beach. Between the gorgeous Villas, the gracious owner and caretakers, the amount of security, the close proximity to town and activities, it was the best place I've ever stayed on vacation.

Incredible Vacation, great waves great choice!!!

My friends and I travel to Santa Teresa every year for an extended stay and hotels are too expensive and dont offer enough space and hostels dont have what we desire. Villa Alemendro gave us exactly what we wanted. Lots of space, wonderful ac, big comfy beds with gorgeous linens. Its in the middle of town right near the best surf breaks, restaurants, and surf shops, but also offers plenty of privacy. Greg, the owner, catered to our every need, set us up with boat trips, surf lessons, and recommended only the best restaurants. We were 4 in total, 2 couples, and we each had our own room with plenty of space. We are definitly returning for a month next January. Thanks Greg

By Far The Best Find In Santa Teresa!

We are a family of four and are well traveled. I read reviews myself and value them when making my travel plans so I hope you will too when reading this. Villa Solar is an extraordinary find. The owner (Greg) has taken great pride in his place. Right across the street from arguably one of the best surfing spots in the world (Brunella) Villa Solar was a really good find for us. His property is new and pristine (very unlike most all the other places we looked at). The grounds butt right up next to a beautiful jungle view while drop dead gorgeous Playa Carmen is right across the street. Yes the air conditioning was wonderful, yes the place was spacious very nicely done, but more than that, it's not just another great rental property. Every single suggestion Greg made was spot on for our family. From perfect surf breaks, to excellent restaurant choices (with views to die for and at a good price), to some of the best fishing I have ever had in my life. My son and I caught 230lbs of Tuna thanks to Greg's contacts with one of the seasoned local fisherman...(steering us away from the rediculous prices trourists get gnabbed for when going sports fishing). Greg was there helping us with any questions we had making our Costa Rica experience a lifetime memory. We give Villa Solar two stongs thumbs way up. Thanks Greg, -The Tamplins
