If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle , this is a great place to stay . Wild horses are everywhere and a short drive to the beach with plenty of room to set up . The owners were great hosts.
Large house with lots of great features. Walking distance to wide sandy beach with horses present in the neighborhood. Loved the pool and hot tub and volleyball court too.

Great house for extended families!
Great layout for several families to stay comfortably in one house. Close to the beach and having the firehouse next door is reassuring! Owner very hospitable and took care of any issue we had very quickly!
This location and property is awesome. The property owner and manager are easy to contact.
The home is is great. The access is easy amd the communication and friendliness of the owner and manager is great. We needed another set of sheets and the manager was there within 15 min to bring them.

A great house in a great area!
My family and I had tons of fun at Oceans End. It was our third year staying there. The house is very clean, spacious and has every amenity needed to have a great vacation with extended family. 15 of us stayed here very comfortably. Carova Beach is our vacation destination of choice. The wild horses are so cool to see and 4-wheeling on the beach is a blast.
We had a wonderful week at Ocean’s End. Mark was very prompt in reaching out to me initially after we rented the property and then also right before we checked in to answer all my questions. The house was clean and well furnished for a great week with my grown kids and husband. So close to the beach and the pool was fantastic.
It was a very nice place. you can see the ocean from the top floor and it was a 5 min walk to beach or we also drove right on the beach which was pretty much our own private beach. Only disadvantage is 30 min ride on the beach to get to a store.

Perfect Beach House
This was our second year at Ocean's End, and we definitely plan on returning. We are a large group (15 people), yet this house provided plenty of space for all of us to relax. The A/C works excellent, the bathrooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable and clean, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook large family dinners every night. We love the pool and the hot tub. The wild horses walk right into the yard to graze, and False Cape State Park is an easy three mile hike from the house.
Property is good, meets all our needs. We have been traveling to the outer banks for many years now, and we enjoy fishing and gathering on the beach, so it makes more since for us to leave out things packed on the trucks and drive to the beach daily. We spend all our time on the beach or just relaxing at the house. We have no desire to go out and about for other activities so Oceans End gives our family exactly that. We love having the tower next to the house it makes it easy to find our way home in the dark. The house manager and owner are great to work with.

Perfect home, Perfect location
This was our third year visiting Ocean's End. As the two previous years we had a wonderful and relaxing time. The house its self is perfect, the lay out of the home is excellent, and the recent renovations to the home show the owners pride and care for their home. If you're looking for an amazing, relaxing get away from a hectic schedule, look no further rest assure you'll find it here at Ocean's End. I also would like to say that the property managers and the owners of this home are very kind and accommodating, which makes it that much better.
Thanks Ocean End for another AMAZING vacation!
This was our 4th year at the house. We love spending time on the beach and enjoy the horses coming by. We love watching the birds. The fire department is right across from the house so it makes it convenient to get ice. The house is as described. Beach houses get alot of wear and tear especially rental properties, however the owners are working to keep up with the property and taking care of repairs. Manager and owner are great to work with.
Vacationed with our adult children, spouses, Navy friends, children and spouse. What a great week and a great house! All were nervous about the beach driving, but by the middle of the week it was no big deal. Loved the location, view, proximity the the beach and the wild horses. The horses seemed to be drawn to Ocean's End. The came by the house and grazed in the yard several times during the week.
Mark communicated all relevant information, and Rhonda was attentive to our needs. Our son-in-law left some shirts in the closet, which she recovered and mailed back. Would book this property again if available for our next trip.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Not Recommended
With an engaged and helpful, accessible property manager, it could have been a much better stay. Bed bug spray left in the Master BR was not a good sign. Getting the kayak was way too complex. Never saw any sign that the pool guy had been. We've stayed at Carova houses 6 times now. This was the worst experience. First and last stay at Oceans End.
The property manager and owners were very easy to communicate with during our stay. We had some issues with the washing machine not working properly during our stay and it was not fixed while we were there. The owners are aware and stated they are working on the problem. Rhonda the property manager was very responsive in unclogging the shower drain in one of the rooms. We did have a safety issue with a light fixture falling during the night which was a little scary. The owners were made aware and stated they would address it. Overall the condition of the house is fair to good but has room for improvement.

Large house, Many Bathrooms and Nice location
This property is about a 30 minute drive up the beach of the Outer Banks. This house is very large and has multi levels. The horses come right up to the house and when we walked on the beach we saw the wild horses every day. This is easiest to get to during low tide however with 4 wheel drive it can be obtained at any time. I felt very safe at the house.
The house does has a Volleyball court but didn't play on it. The pool is a good size to play with family and the hot tub is nice also The pool table in basement the kids made use of several times.
If you have anyone with difficulty going up or down the stairs this is not the house for you as there are stairs to go up and down all day long. There is a master bedroom on top floor which has the living room and kitchen.
Ocean's End was a great house to have a mini family reunion. It was nice having everyone under one roof. It was pretty amazing to see the horses on the beach and even better when they wandered onto the property. Mark and Carol were very responsive hosts. They were very communicative and promptly addressed any questions/concerns we had. The only negative experience was that it wasn't thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. Due to unforeseen travel delays, we arrived after midnight, so the issues we had could not immediately be addressed. We had to take care of them ourselves. There was an open can left in the refrigerator, trash under one of the beds, one of the bathrooms had definitely not been cleaned, and two of the pool lounge chairs had holes in them. Before going to bed we ended up spending a couple of hours cleaning and doing laundry. It was not the way we had hoped to kick off our vacation.
This was our first time to the Outter Banks. The 4x4 section was AMAZING. The owner did notify us ahead of our check in that the air conditioning unit was needing replaced on the second floor and offered a full refund if we wanted to cancel due to the issue. We went regardless lol and the owner was able to get it replaced quickly a few days into our stay. Everything at the house was in good working order and comfortable. It felt like a home for a week, not a hotel/condo. We saw the wild horses daily in the yard and the quick drive/ walk to the beach was easy. Also loved that at night it was completely QUIET, no road or city traffic. My only complaint so to say is that the water supply to the house was very stinky. I understand this to be due to the location on the island, being a country girl this was easily overlooked, but I'm guessing some people wouldn't be happy with that. WONDERFUL STAY and we would certainly go again! Thank you.
From August 17th to August 24th myself and 14 other members of my family had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Oceans End! The house itself was amazing, clean and more then enough room for my family. They say first impressions are everything and this house gave a great first impression! Everything that is advertised is true! We saw wild horses every day of our vacation. So close you can almost touch them, but don’t 😉. The drive on the beach while long was an amazing experience as well.
One of the best days we had was on the lake with the canoes, paddle boards and kayaks. This day was made possible because of Rhonda who was very accommodating and tolerated our eagerness to be in the water very well. She met us at the lake after several phone calls and some coordinating and explained everything to us and even let us use extra kayaks.
I can go on and on about how great this house and the owners were but my advice is to experience it yourself! Trust me and my family when we say you will not be disappointed!
Thank you Mark and Rhonda for an amazing 2019 family vacation from my family to yours!!
We saw wild horses everyday, more so in the mornings and evenings. The location is remote about a 30 to 45 minute drive along the beach to get to the paved roads of Coralla. We cooked all our meals at the beach home finding the kitchen well equipped to do that. There is one fridge on the ground floor with another in the main kitchen so lots of food storage space. The owners were easy to communicate with and responded to questions quickly. The beach was an easy walk away. We used a Jeep to transport chairs, umbrellas etc but the beach was close enough, people in the group could walk to and from the beach or use the Jeep as needed. The fire station was next door with an ice machine to buy ice. All 6 bedrooms had a connecting bathroom giving family members privacy from one another. Many of bedrooms had doors going to decks. The upper decks were not covered so you can sit in the sun and provided views of the ocean. My favorite place to sit was the deck on the second floor which was covered by the deck above with a nice breeze. I watched the horses from that deck most of the time. Very nice clean property and I would stay there again.

Great home, needs minor adjustments
The home is beautiful and privately located. It fit our needs and our family. I just have some suggestions:
1. Clean out cabinets and closets. There is trash and broken items.
2. Replace mattresses and comforters. The mattresses are so overused that they all sink in and gave our family back problems.
3. Remove or replace broken furniture. The patio table top stones were broken which made it unable to use. Some chairs were broken and almost cause injury to my family.
4. Gaming console games and movies are all scratched. Please remove or replace. If i would have known that, i would have brought my own.
5. Grill had empty gas tanks although we were told there would be some provided.
Other than that, we had a great time. Very close to the beach. About 15 min drive on the beach to get to the house which requires AWD vehicle and can get unsafe at times. House is 30 mins from stores and activities. Wild horses are beautiful.

Outstanding Vacation Rental!
My family and I stayed at Ocean's End in Carova beach for the first time this August. We were a group of 16 and at the end of the week we were ALL calling this the best vacation we ever took! I should mention we are a very spoiled group when it comes to the beach. We have had a beach house growing up our entire lives in New Jersey, until tragically it was washed away during hurricaine Sandy in 2012. So for us going into a beach rental house was not something we were accustom to. Our beach house was our second home. Ocean's End exceeded all of our expectations. The house was very clean and comfortable. The air condition was ice cold and the bedding that was provided was very high quality and soft. The house was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked. We cooked 3 meals a day for 16 people with ease. This house is in a great location. Only a 1 minute drive to the beach and 2 blocks to the sound. The sound with the public park is the perfect location to put your kayak in the water. We loved the big selection of board games that were there. We played every night. Each night when it got dark we all ventured out for our nightly "spooky walk". The 4X4 beach and the area was breath taking. Every day we saw many dolphins in the water. We caught fish every day off the shore. Horses came walking down the beach and visited the house every day and night. If you enjoy nature and the beach, then you will fall in love with Carova Beach. It was one of the most unique places we have ever visited. If you are able to rent Ocean's End, you will not be disappointed! It is a beautiful home with ample space for everyone.

About the host
Hosted by Mark Morris
Our family first visited this area of the OBX about 15 years ago and absolutely loved it. We decided to bring our family back in the summer of 2016 and vacation. While we were on vacation we began to entertain the idea of looking for a place we could own. After looking at some houses and enjoying our vacation we had to leave but the idea of finding our own place stuck with us. We returned to look at several house in Oct and fell in love with Oceans End. We closed in Dec of 2016 and spent Christmas in the house as a family. Although not ideal for swimming we enjoyed the wide open beaches, horses and time together as a family. We currently live in Pennsylvania but hope to spend winter months on the Outer Banks once we retire. We have already started filling this house with wonderful family memories and if you decide to vacation at Oceans End we will do everything we can to make sure your wonderful memories become a part of Oceans End as well.
Why they chose this property
We love the natural look. No paved roads. Very secluded and quiet. We love the fact that we are living in an area that protects the wild horses. It is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Nags Head area and be somewhere out of the way.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy the privacy of our pool and hot tub. We love to wake up in the morning and go out on the deck and see the ocean on one side and the sound on the other. There are always wild horses in our yard to greet us. They are very calm, fun to watch, and are used to people being around but we need to keep our distance for their sake. We also love the closeness to the ocean front and enjoy long quiet walks on miles of beach front where very few people come. It's wonderful!
