OTHERS THINGS TO NOTE

IMPORTANT - Fill up on gas and get groceries before heading up the mountain. Closest gas station is about 30 miles/1 hour away (Bakersfield/Porterville/Springville) and closest groceries are 14 miles away from the local market and food options limited.

TRASH - We do not have any trash service in the mountains so we request all trash to be removed by the guests when leaving. You will be charged for any trash and/or food in fridge left.

Phone service can be limited up in the mountains…which isn’t necessarily a bad thing when you’re looking to get away and decompress. But Starlink internet runs pretty smoothly for Wifi, emails, & streaming.

IMPORTANT: In the winter season, 4-wheel drive and snow chains are required.

Please bring your own firewood/firestarter for the wood-burning stove. This is the cabin’s main source of heat. We also have fire wood for sale as well for $7 a bundle. Just let us know.

Your cleaning fee covers a basic cleaning to prep the cabin for the next guest (ex. light bathroom/kitchen cleaning, tubs, wash linens & towels, & vacuum). You will be charged for any additional cleaning that requires above and beyond this basic clean (ex. Pet stains/hair, food, stains, messy kitchen, dirty dishes, food in fridge, trash).

Please treat our place, the mountains, and our mountain community with respect and keep it clean. Be respectful of our family cabin and our mountain neighbors. We ask for the cabin to be left as you found it.

Amazing Stay
This was our second time up to this beautiful cabin. Alicia is an amazing host. She’s communicative and answers any questions you may have. She gave us the heads up that there would be snow on our way up. the snow was a new experience for us. The road up to the cabin was cleared by the time we made it up and the driveway was also cleared for us jus made it easier for us to be able to get settled in before the snow started. Amazing views from the cabin windows. Everything stocked up and organized to make our stay nice and comfortable. Wood stove really simple to use even though it was our first time using it for the cold weather. We also got to use there sleds for the snow and the children really enjoyed there time in the snow.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods!
Picture this! You are making your way up the winding mountain road as you pass beautiful and varying scenery. You pull up to this gorgeous cabin in the woods, you walk in and there is this wonderfully and tastefully done lighted Christmas tree with all ornaments of all the animals and birds that you could possibly see on your adventure in the mountains. Every detail is seen to in this cabin. The wood stove and all your needed fire starting accessories are laid out for you just outside the side door. The lighting and coziness of the cabin just makes you feel like you’ve walked into a story. The beds are not to hard and not to soft - they are just right! The place is spotless! What a place to begin your adventure to Sequoia National Forrest! Oh! And did I mention the hammock hanging outside - with your name on it? Now… Take that all into consideration and then add that Alicia (owner) is ready to respond to any question or need! Her attention to detail is unrivaled! She made us feel welcomed and was delighted to hear about our adventure to the giant Sequoia trees! BTW, highly recommend the 7-8 mile loop, starting at the General Sherman tree. We really enjoyed our time at the beautiful cabin in the woods. Our time there was delightful and one that my family will be sharing fond memories of for years to come!

Nice place
Beautiful and clean home. Not enough towels and wash clothes for 5 people. Would we stay again? Probably so!

Beautiful cabin, amazing view
This cabin is perfectly placed on top of the mountain with a clear sight of the surrounding mountain landscape. A beautiful place to get away and enjoy the clean fresh air, wind in the trees and birds singing. Best of all it looks better in person. Highly recommend.

About the host

Hi, I’m Alicia. My husband Justin and I were born and raised in Michigan and have lived in Los Angeles now for 18 years. My husband is a musician/music producer and I am a professional stay-at-home mom. We met in college back in Michigan 20 years ago and have been married for 9 years. We have two amazing daughters (6 years old and 3 years old) who bring so much light to our lives. We’re an easygoing family who love to laugh, work hard, and play hard. We love going on nature adventures, having family dance parties, and pretty much anything that involves music! We love garage sales and finding vintage/unique treasures and you can see some of this love throughout our cabin.

DURING YOUR STAY

We enjoy meeting and connecting with new people from near and far and are so happy for the opportunity to host you on your getaway. We are easygoing, down-to-earth, accommodating and welcoming. Our cabin is an extension of this in many ways…simple, casual, charming and full of love and warmth.

We don’t live in the immediate area but we are always a text or phone call away. We are here to help make your stay as wonderful and relaxing as possible and help in any way we can.

We’ll be here for any questions you may have but also wish to respect your privacy during your getaway. Our goal is to make your experience as special and as unforgettable as possible.

We can’t wait to host you soon!

Why they chose this property

Justin and I instantly fell in love with our cabin and the magic of these mountains when we came to the Posey area for a holiday family getaway. The white snow, the crisp air, the trees, nature, and the slower pace of mountain life brought us back home to our Midwest roots. We love to hike and explore all around our property and have big dreams of building tree forts and new paths in the near future!
