Seal Reef is The Luxury OCEANFRONT vacation home that delivers 200 degree ocean and coastline views and spectacular sunsets in a well-maintained and QUIET private in neighborhood. The Blufftop home provides excellent privacy to enjoy the space without distraction; plus it is conveniently located to the historic Mendocino Artists Village and a short distance to the coastal city of Fort Bragg.
This home is PET/SMOKE FREE and thoroughly sanitized between guests.
We use a 70% alcohol based antibacterial solution on all surfaces including inside and outside door handles for the safety of all our guests.
This property is within easy walking distance of the beautiful Fern Canyon trail and waterfall in Russian Gulch State Park and Point Cabrillo Lighthouse State Park with uncrowded sandy beaches north and south. Ideally located to indulge in one adventure after another. Good fishing for Lingcod and Cabezon is right in your back yard. There are also hiking trails, beachcombing,, kayaking, cycling, winery hopping, gourmet dining or B B Q ing the "day's catch" while taking in the incredible view at the house. It's all here. SEAL REEF is the vacation home you've been hoping to find.
The back yard enjoys 227 feet of ocean frontage set 30 feet above a calm-water cove that provides fishing or gathering mussels. A glass protected deck and walls of windows offer an endless attraction for watching the resident colony of Harbor Seals basking in the sun with their pups on the reef below, migrating whales, porpoise jumping and pelicans in formation as they glide inches above the water. It is truly AWESOME!
Seal Reef is a surreal place where guests can totally immerse themselves in nature's beauty and immense power.
NO PETS, NO EXCEPTIONS! Please don't ask.

Our daily rate is for double occupancy (2 persons) $66 per additional guest (6) guests maximum) infants excepted. Due to its close proximity to the bluff top, Seal Reef is not suitable for children age 1-9. OCCUPANCY STRICTLY LIMITED TO PAID GUESTS. Cleaning fee is $175 for 2 guests (one Bedroom) for any length of stay......

International credit card fees (3%) will be assumed by Guest.

Seal Reef is completely turn-key with free WiFi internet, plus streaming NETFLIX movies, PANDORA music and Basic cable TV. It is tastefully furnished including a FULLY STOCKED KITCHEN with fresh ground coffee and all essential herbs, spices, oils, condiments and QUALITY COOKWARE & BAKEWARE and sharp knives . Also included : blender, toaster, mixer and food processor, food storage containers and bags. Also has all modern stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops throughout , stone and glass showers and hardwood floors. Gorgeous ocean view

Just a breathtaking place. The smell of the ocean is mesmerizing. We watched the waves for hours and enjoyed all of the scenery each day we were there. Lovely manager of the property. It was very relazing anc comfortable.

Comfortable house right next to the ocean

We were mesmerized by the ocean view through the glass paneled deck. Seal Reef is aptly named since there are five or six that hang out on the rocks in front. We saw a whole parade of whales migrating North- many breaches spread across a wide area that went on for almost an hour. We enjoyed the power recliner chairs and found the beds comfortable. We barbequed fish from the Princess fish market and enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen. We explored nearby Russian Gulch SP and hiked to the waterfall. We toured the Cabrillo Point lighthouse and learned all about the area's history and marine life. Host Elizabeth met us at check in and made sure we had wood for the impressive fireplace.

Seal Reef is a truly special home and location! This is our second visit and undoubtedly not our last. As a place to gather family -- with the awesome ocean views -- it is perfect. Elizabeth is a responsive and wonderful host.

Family Getaway

Beautiful home and the location was like no other. We watched the sunset and the moon rise over the ocean. Seals sunbathed on the reef outside our back door and the deer wandered around the neighborhood. This home has everything you need!

Lovely Ocean View House

This is one of the loveliest VRBOs we've stayed in. Very clean and nicely decorated, gorgeous views, safe private neighborhood, and a very nice host who was eager to make sure our stay was good. We liked the proximity to both Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Enjoyed seeing the harbor seals and shorebirds from the house. I was glad we brought our binoculars. And the stars were fabulous!

Most serene ocean view

This home is spectacular. We’ve rented a number of ocean view homes along the Mendocino coast and this home is our absolute favorite. The view is so incredible that it kept us from wanting to leave the house. So peaceful. We saw seals on the rocks below and birds offering beautiful flights. The furniture is nice quality and comfortable. The kitchen has just about everything you’ll need. We cooked most of our meals. Elizabeth was incredible. So friendly and helpful.

Fabulous ocean front home!

We spent four days at this fabulous ocean front home. We loved sitting out on the front deck looking out at the ocean drinking coffee each morning and watching the sun set each evening!! The best of Mendicino

This house is obviously deeply cared about by the owners. The details of the house and the land were beautiful. It is close enough to town to be there in minutes and yet it's far enough away and private that we felt the ocean was ours. We look forward to staying here again.

We met our adult daughters at Seal Rock for five days over Christmas. It exceeded our expectations by a long shot. The home is cozy and had everything we needed. If you enjoy exploring rocky seashores then this is the place for you! Only 8-10 minutes from Mendocino and some of the most gorgeous landscape we've ever seen. The property manager was so responsive and we truly couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and fun place to spend the holidays.

This property is just stunning. The view is more beautiful than in the pictures and the home is just lovely. Elizabeth was so helpful and made our stay just perfect. Translocated from San Diego in 2002 and love living in Mendocino. We dreamed of having this house for years before it came for sale in January 2011. So when it did, even though the real estate market was DOA, we gleefully purchased it. We could easily see a diamond in the rough on this premier oceanfront property.
We lived in the house for the first 2 years while Seal Reef was being completely chiseled and transformed into the beautiful gem that it is now.
