Worst experience ever!

Arrived December 26th at front desk to pickup keys and i was informed that the apartment had already guests in it and that I was scammed by VRBO I called VRBO and it was not a scam at all, my reservation was real and they tried to contact the property owner without luck. Ive tried myself and no luck as well. Tried calling him directly, emails, and via VRBO website. Until today no answer from him. VRBO authorized me to find something else for the night only while they try to contact property owner. So I walked around Playa del Carmen with our luggage trying to find something for the night, with this time of year its almost impossible. The next day in the morning close to checkout time no one called me back from VRBO, so I took the liberty to book for an extra night and I advised VRBO support by email around 1pm and only then that I got a response by email from VRBO saying they had only authorized one night as they were trying to reach the owner and I informed them that my checkout was at 11am and not having any news from anyone i took the liberty to secure accommodations for my family. I was finally authorized for 3 nights by VRBO and I have now to discuss with escalations to get a full reimbursement for the original stay that I paid in full 2,600$. Renting an entire home fornthe family and ending up staying in an hotel room for 7 days is not the same. This property owner has no idea how he left us in Playa del Carmen without a place to stay and cashed our money.
