About this property

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this newly renovated cottage on a canal that leads to the Little Lagoon. The property is located just 2 blocks from public beach access, and 4 blocks from the Hangout, and is in walking distance to popular shopping spots and restaurants.

The space
This is a charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit, w/ open floor plan, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room, and smart TVs in every bedroom.

There is a spacious, private outdoor shower with hot and cold water.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and private bath. The other bedrooms share the hallway bath, and each have a queen size bed, one of which has a twin size pullout trundle.

The large front deck is partially covered and overlooks the canal to the east where you can watch pelicans, herons, and osprey hunt for fish while you sip your morning coffee. The canal also provides hours of fun fishing, crabbing, and Kayaking.

Guest access
There is a storage area labeled Sandpiper 1 under the house next door, which we own. Inside are 2 Kayaks, a Corn Hole game, beach toys, chairs, and a wagon for your enjoyment. Please return all items to the shed when you are finished using them.

This storage area is the only portion of the house next door that you are authorized to access. Do Not use the outdoor shower or loiter at the picnic table and chairs under the house, Sandpiper 2.

Other things to note
* House is equipped with Yale Smart Lock. To unlock: Press Yale logo, enter code provided and press check mark. To lock: Press Yale logo.

* Front door lock sometimes sticks or does not lock. If this occurs, pull the door closed tightly and hold while engaging lock.

* No smoking or vaping in the house or on the deck. A smoking area with seating is provided under the house. Please place cigarette butts in the sand bucket. An additional $150 cleaning fee for smoking inside the house.

* No parties or large gatherings.

*Exterior security cameras are in place

* Minimum age to rent is 25 yrs. Guests under the age of 25 is expected to be accompanied by a guest 25 years or older.

* There is space for 3 vehicles and a boat or trailer on the driveway and under the house.

* The house is accessible via a flight of stairs. There is no elevator, so this house is not handicap accessible.

Vacation 2023

Easy location, clean and very comfortable. Property is close to shopping, eating, and the beach. We had a party of 6 and everyone was impressed with the amount of room in the condo. Kitchen is equipt with everything you need to cook. Great laundry room as well. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back. The Owen family Barton family, and the Eyke family

Great Location

Nice place to stay. Short walk to the beach and restaurants. Updated and well appointed house. The place was pretty clean other than dishes in the dishwasher, somebody's runaway Eggo waffle on the floor of a bedroom, same bedroom had sand in the sheets. Would stay here again.

Sandpiper 1

The home offers a great layout for a large group. The outside covered deck is wonderful for a family gathering. There were many nights of bbq, drinking and card games all hosted on the latte deck! We enjoyed being so close to the beach, just a short walk away and all of the fabulous restaurants located in Gulf Shores. The owners are gracious enough to supply a beach wagon, kayaks, beach chairs and numerous sand toys. We really only brought an umbrella and our towels. How wonderful and convenient when traveling with a large group. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will definitely keep in Michigan be for future family gatherings.

Perfect Canal Cabin

My family took a girls trip to Sandpiper to celebrate my mom's victory over cancer, and this was the perfect place for us to stay! The cabin was clean and beautiful. It even had the basics stocked for ua when we arrived. JT had excellent communication and sent us everything we needed to know before we arrived. We would love to return with our whole family for a stay in the future. We had a great experience!

Best Ever

Our whole family gets together once a year in Gulf Shores. In 8 years, this is my favorite yet. This property is super family friendly. Outdoor games, wagon, chairs, and kayaks are provided for you. We had older people in our group; the location of this condo is perfect. Its set back on the lagoon on a quiet road but still close enough to the stores, restaurants, and beach that we were able to walk everywhere we decided to go. Of the 4 condos we rented, this one was the best AND CHEAPEST. After we arrived, I realized I lost the lock combination to the storage area where kayaks are kept. I messaged the owner. Immediately he called me back on his personal cell phone, gave me the combination, and told me to feel free to call that number back if we needed anything else.

Why they chose this property

We've owned this property since 2005 . Our 3 children have been raised coming to this property as their summer vacation home. We have enjoyed sharing this property with other family and friends over the years so they could make their own memories. We recently decided to make it available to others through the short term rental market. So we did a complete renovation, including new floors, fresh paint, and sparkling new baths and kitchen. It is fresh, clean and ready to be enjoyed.

What makes this property unique

What initially attracted us to this house is the big yard and quiet street. We felt we could let our kids ride their bikes and play in the yard without fear of them getting lost on the beach, but please keep an eye on your tiniest ones, as there is nothing to prevent access to the canal.
Also, we love the location. We are so close to everything. The beach, yummy restaurants, an ice cream shop, and a gift shop are all with in short walking distance.
