NIGHTMARE
Do not stay here, or book with this host. I arrived to check in as scheduled for a pre-cruise stay at 9 pm to find the place was not cleaned from its prior rental. Dirty dishes in sink, stripped linens on floor, used towels in bathtub. Smelled of cigarette smoke. Not in a good area. Called host who said “he thought I was coming tomorrow” despite receiving a check in code for the correct date, and accurate info in Vrbo app. He agreed to refund my money because I did not want to wait to “see” if someone could come clean at 10pm at night after driving all day. Then had to drive around looking for a last minute hotel which was very expensive. It has now been 3 weeks with multiple messages and calls to both Vrbo and host and I am still missing more than $80 of what I paid. Each party keeps blaming the other. Vrbo saying host didn’t do something in his and, host saying Vrbo didn’t do something on their end. I have used Vrbo so many times and never had an issue like this. Never again.
