My name is Omar and I am delighted to welcome you to our camp! My family has remained in Wadi Rum for many generations, born and raised in the surrounding desert. As a guest at our camp, you will have the opportunity to learn from our vast knowledge of the land, and learn about Bedouin culture and our daily lives. Every night we prepare traditional food of the region and cook it in an underground oven (zarb), which is shared with other guests in the traditional Bedouin way.
residence
Our camp is a reflection of the traditional Bedouin camps in Wadi Rum. Although many members of our family still lead a nomadic life herding livestock, our camp has a fixed site and various facilities that are not typical of Bedouin camps, including electricity, running water, and private accommodation in tents with raised bunks off the ground. We feel we have found the right balance of comfort and authenticity for our guests.
Entrance for guests
The camp is your second home and you can use all the facilities. All meals are prepared at camp, so you won't need access to a kitchen, but we do have a large tent for socializing, meals and interaction and individual private tents for guests to stay comfortably in a private residence.
Other things to note
.
The facilities are basic by Western standards and luxurious by local Bedouin standards. We hope you understand that we aim to provide cultural exchange and insight into our way of life and not to replicate Western European hotel service standards. We respect all visitors to our place and expect them to respect us in the same way.
Transportation from Wadi Rum Visitor Center to our camp is free for all guests who stay with us and join a tour.
