We are just off I-29 in northern Missouri between St. Joseph and Platte City. This tiny loft cabin is across the driveway from our house on flat ground. Our property is 21 acres and includes a yard of 6 acres and fields (alternating corn and soy beans) and a wooded area. There is a fishing pond down the hill behind our house. There is also a fire pit to the left (north) of the cabin. Around the fire pit are swings and benches. We call this area Geriatric Park. It used to be a playground for our grandkids, but when they outgrew it we adults took it over!
We have a gravel driveway which services our house and the cabin. You park next to the cabin. There is a kitchenette with the necessary essentials and a small bathroom with a sink, shower and toilet. There is also heat and AC.
If you love nature and want to relax, walk in the fresh air, or even be put to work, just let us know. We want your stay here to be enjoyable and hope you look forward to coming back!
We are in the country not too far from the Pigeon Hill firing range, so you may hear gunfire from there.
Nearby are several wineries, the McCormick Distillery in Weston MO, and historical St Joseph MO (where the Pony Express began and Jesse James ended), as well as several antique stores. Just a little further southwest is Leavenworth KS, which has a huge amount of history and more antiques, and Fort Leavenworth (the Army's Command and General Staff College (CGSC)). To the east is Jamesport MO, our local Amish colony. To the west is Atchison KS, the home of Amelia Earhart.
This is a farm. We have dogs, cats, goats, chickens and ducks. If the thought of a bug, spider web, or strand of hair makes you cringe, this probably isn't the place for you. The cabin is clean between each visitor, but is not prepared for a forensic inspection. Thanks for understanding!

We have stayed in green cabin many times, but this was our first in the red one. We loved it! It's very thoughtfully appointed, and the bed is very comfortable. Thank you!
Very clean, super accommodating, awesome communication. Wish we would've had more time to just spend at the property! Will definitely be staying here again in the future!
The location was just right for our early morning activity the next morning. The snacks and amenities were a bonus. The listing said up to 7 but we had five and it was tight but workable for the brief stay. My boys loved the loft!
This was our second visit. Our cabin this time was under construction last year, and we loved it even more than a first. This was just my wife and I celebrating our 17th anniversary, but we'd love to bring our kids and let them stay in the loft.
We really enjoyed our time at the Loft cabin. It was so nice to find it and settle in easily after a 10 hr day of travel. The dog toys made our German Shepherd very happy who was suffering from anxiety. Thank you so much for a safe and comfy place to stay.
Absolutely loved staying here! We had a family wedding and couldn’t find anywhere that we could take our puppy Ozark with. Sharon was so flexible and even allowed us to get in early so that we could make it on time! It was such a lovely and peaceful stay, we got to walk around and see all their animals! Would 100% recommend and we definitely be back! 😊
The cabin was clean and cozy! The outdoor hang out area with the firepit was cute and relaxing. The host was responsive and helpful. And the views were beautiful! My only complaints are that the bed was super hard and there wasn't any Wi-fi. Otherwise, I'd love to visit again!
We stayed in this cabin for a 3 night get together with family. Originally we had planned to go tent camping, but extremely hot weather caused us to look for an option with A/C. We had a great time and really enjoyed staying in the loft cabin. We enjoyed cooking out and eating together(great kitchen and outdoor porch with seating), family card and board games, family movie night, and even some great yard games that the host let us borrow! The host was very responsive and helpful as well! We definitely plan to return here again in the future.
We are both retired military. We love living in the country and thrive on the peace and quiet. We know traveling can be stressful and having some peace and quiet can give some much needed relaxation. After all, the journey is part of the trip!
Why they chose this property
We love being in the country and seeing long distances of nature. We love seeing wild life wander around our property. We enjoy the peace and quiet. We love seeing the stars. We hope you love it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
We jokingly say Tobeyland is a right to work property. If you want to work, just let us know! We also have chickens and ducks, so fresh eggs are here for the asking!
