Delightfully Remodeled Beach Cottage with Ocean Views

This charming beach cottage was completely rebuilt ten years ago. Enter the front gate and you are on deck with views of the ocean. Built in benches provide ample seating for outside dining or just relaxing. A beautifully landscaped yard is fenced in for children's safety.

The ground level of this home features a great room with cathedral ceilings, a beautiful kitchen with pantry, and a master suite with a bathroom with a large shower with glass tile accents.

The upstairs is private master suite with ocean views and a bathroom with tub/shower combination.

The basement is ideal for a children or teen age suite. It has new wood floors. There are 2 twin beds and a new queen bed for sleeping. A huge TV , toys games, and books are provided. There is a third bathroom with a shower off this room. A washer and dryer are also located downstairs.

The description says the home sleeps 6 but it is best suited for 2 or 4 adults and up to 2-4 children. The children's suite is on the lower level and has twin beds and a queen size bed. The 2 master suites provide comfortable king size beds.

Excellent location

You cannot beat the location of this home. Within walking distance of one of the best beaches in Santa Cruz and several restaurants as well as a coffee shop for your morning coffee.This home has Wonderful ocean views, and plenty of room for family to enjoy.

Staying at this perfectly situated and appointed, and lovingly cared for home, is simply a slice of heaven. This was our third stay and has now become an absolute family favorite. It offers an easily accessible respite from the hectic pace of silicon valley, with only a short drive in order to enjoy. The home is carefully supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the location cannot be beat. The hosts are easy to communicate with and amenable to your needs. Great Place for kids

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was in a great location and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable change of pace. There was a great play room for the kids and sunning on the deck was perfect.

Lovely stay, best location!

It felt like we were staying in a family home— in the best possible way. Beds were SUPER comfortable, home had everything we needed, from shampoo to spices. Beautiful views and the best location! We loved walking down to shops and restaurants near the harbor. It was a perfect place to visit our college-aged son and stay with our baby. Thank you, we hope to come back soon!!

Great Getaway

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property, and enjoyed it as much as the first. You just can’t beat the proximity to the great Twin Lakes Beach … and I’m a huge fan of the coffee shop just down the beach a ways. The home itself is charming and comfortable, and we’re so grateful they accept dogs!

Wonderful Harbor Home

We love staying here! The house is comfortable and fits our needs perfectly. The front deck is our favorite spot to sit offering a view of the beach and the neighborhood. The house is ideally located with Twin Lakes Beach just a block away, the harbor a few blocks and Seabright Beach just under a mile away—an easy, beautiful walk along the harbor.

What a great house to visit! This is not a property it is a home. Three levels allowed all of us to be in one house in a rain storm and still have a great trip.

Wonderful Santa Cruz House!

We had such a wonderful stay at this house this past Fall. Great location to the beach, perfect size for two families and very kid/dog friendly. The kitchen has everything you need, so if you love to cook in, this would be a great place to book your next vacation. The owners were so easy to work with and very friendly and helpful. We will definately be going back to this place on our next trip to Santa Cruz!

Beach getaway

We enjoyed our stay in this adorable beach house. It was plenty big for 2 adults and 4 teens. It was so nice to have three bathrooms and the kitchen was stocked very well. We enjoyed walks to the beach and lighthouse. The host always responded quickly to any questions we had and there was a beautiful boutique of flowers when we checked in. We would love to visit again during warmer months.

Location, location, location! We have been staying at the beach cottage for 8 years. If I had to pick my favorite feature of the house it would be the front deck where you can sit, read a book, have a glass of wine, talk to the people walking by and watch the beach—it’s where we venture to first thing in the morning, coffee in hand. Second, would be the living room with large comfy sofa and table for playing games. Our grandkids love their space downstairs which is a win win for all of us (no toys on the main level!). The kitchen is well equipped and the cottage is within walking distance of several great restaurants and Deke’s store. The only downside of our trip this year was the closure of the Murray Street bridge—getting to our east side favorites requires patience! Hopefully next year we will be able to walk across the bridge again to the lighthouse and Seabright beach.

We Loved This Home!

We felt right at home the moment we went inside. The floor plan is perfect for our family, with a nice bedroom and bathroom on every floor so everyone has some privacy and can enjoy their own version of vacation time. The home is perfectly decorated in our idea of a beach home, and the views of the water are wonderful! We had everything we needed to celebrate Thanksgiving and even cooked everything here! The location is perfect for what we like to do and is within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and all sorts of fun destinations. It's quiet and we felt safe here. The owners are exceptionally warm and wonderful! They communicated with us perfectly and the made us feel very comfortable in easily accessing the property. This is now one of our very favorite vacations spots and we look forward to coming back often to continue making happy memories!

Location! Location! Location!

For the past 8 years we have rented this wonderful beach house at Twin Lakes. Perfect location in the harbor within walking distance to restaurants and Twin Lakes beach with a little longer walk to Seabright beach. If you have kids or grandkids, they will be thrilled with the space downstairs. Our grandkids referred to it as their apartment, complete with bathroom and huge TV. We especially love the deck with built in bench. It’s a wonderful spot to sit in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the waves breaking on the beach or late afternoon with a glass of wine watching the sailboat regatta. Our grandkids are already planning next year’s trip!

Amazing location and accommodations!

Our family has been renting homes annually in the Seabright or Twin Lakes area every summer for over 20 years. This home is by far the best we've ever rented. Location can't be beat. No quirky furnishings, appliances, etc. to deal with. Everything is clean, , beautiful, and updated...just as advertised. Our dog felt right at home and just loved the gated front deck, as did we! There was ample toilet paper, paper towels, seasonings, kitchen appliances and cookware...we never did not have what we needed! We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Staying at 141 8th avenue

My family was visiting and we needed an « extension » to our house during their stay. The house is perfectly located for a very relaxing time by the beach. There’s nothing like waking up in the morning and walking to the beach with your first cup of coffee. There are two bedrooms that give you the full ocean sound experience. The third bedroom doesn’t have windows and is more utilitarian. The house is very well equipped. My family was very comfortable during their stay. Marie was very helpful and quick with all questions during the reservation process. I would definitely stay there again!

We love our beach house and are excited about sharing it with others. We hope they enjoy it as much as we have. We have been married for over 50 yrs. and have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren. Rick has been in the construction business for most of his life and I recently retired as real estate agent for Alain Pinel Realtors in Saratoga. We live in Los Gatos, a short trip over the hill from Santa Cruz.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home many years ago as a rental for college students. We always hoped we would be able to rebuild it for ourselves in the future. It was a great dream come true when we completed the remodel.

What makes this property unique

We love that we can walk everywhere from this home. The popular Twin Lakes beach is just a short block away. Bon fires light up the beach in the evening, sail boat races can be viewed from our deck, and lively beach volley ball games are a common occurrence. Don't miss the ukelele concert on Saturday mornings in front of the Java Junction. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance. We especially enjoy the Crows Nest upstairs on Weds. night when the sail boat races are taking place. Johnnie's Harborside, the Java Junction, El Palomar, and Lago di Coma are also favorites of ours. Deke's market on 7th Ave. is a great place for sandwiches and various grocery sundries. There are public tennis courts and a great kids park a few minutes away on 7th Ave. We also enjoy walking and riding bikes on the harbor road where the sea otters, seals, and pelicans are always entertaining. The Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk is a 5-minute drive away with the famous wooden roller coaster and many other thrilling rides for all ages. A 18-hole minature golf course at the boardwalk is also a good way to spend an afternoon. Downtown Santa Cruz and Capitola nearby offer unique shopping opportunities, movie theaters, and other excellent restaurants.
