About this property

Delightfully Remodeled Beach Cottage with Ocean Views

This charming beach cottage was completely rebuilt ten years ago. Enter the front gate and you are on deck with views of the ocean. Built in benches provide ample seating for outside dining or just relaxing. A beautifully landscaped yard is fenced in for children's safety.

The ground level of this home features a great room with cathedral ceilings, a beautiful kitchen with pantry, and a master suite with a bathroom with a large shower with glass tile accents.

The upstairs is private master suite with ocean views and a bathroom with tub/shower combination.

The basement is ideal for a children or teen age suite. It has new wood floors. There are 2 twin beds and a new queen bed for sleeping. A huge TV , toys games, and books are provided. There is a third bathroom with a shower off this room. A washer and dryer are also located downstairs.

The description says the home sleeps 6 but it is best suited for 2 or 4 adults and up to 2-4 children. The children's suite is on the lower level and has twin beds and a queen size bed. The 2 master suites provide comfortable king size beds.

If you use our beach towels, please wash, dry and put away before you leave.
Make sure the garbage is out on Monday evening. Pick up is very early Tuesday morning. Do your best to sort and recycle, please.

What a wonderful place to stay while visiting Santa Cruz. House has everything you need…fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, boogie boards and chairs for the beach…and just a block from the water. We spent plenty of time on the front deck enjoying the view. Hosts were welcoming and easy to contact if needed. We’ll be back soon!

Our family of 5 came to Santa Cruz came here for a fun coastal vacay visiting friends. This property was everything we could want. Walking distance from a beautiful beach , plenty of space , pet friendly and a good price. We will definitely reserve here again and would recommend it !!!!

This was a great place for our group. Three levels each with its own bathroom. All with TVs. There is a patio up front and in front of the unit which ch we used. We BbQ twice. The big plus is location. It’s a short walk to the beach which allowed dogs. The house was also good for dogs due to fence and access to dirt in front and side of unit. Couch was comfy and kitchen has all the utensils you might want. We had some trouble figuring out our stove and microwave but eventually figured it out. We really enjoyed our stay!

Can't beat the location! We went to Twin Lakes beach over and over because we could see it from the house, just a short walk down the street. Plenty of space for our family of 7, and everything we needed in the house. The host was great to answer all our questions ahead of our trip. Even with some rain, wind, and cloudy days, we had a really great time! Would definitely stay here again!

We love our beach house and are excited about sharing it with others. We hope they enjoy it as much as we have. We have been married for over 50 yrs. and have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren. Rick has been in the construction business for most of his life and I recently retired as real estate agent for Alain Pinel Realtors in Saratoga. We live in Los Gatos, a short trip over the hill from Santa Cruz.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home many years ago as a rental for college students. We always hoped we would be able to rebuild it for ourselves in the future. It was a great dream come true when we completed the remodel.

What makes this property unique

We love that we can walk everywhere from this home. The popular Twin Lakes beach is just a short block away. Bon fires light up the beach in the evening, sail boat races can be viewed from our deck, and lively beach volley ball games are a common occurrence. Don't miss the ukelele concert on Saturday mornings in front of the Java Junction. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance. We especially enjoy the Crows Nest upstairs on Weds. night when the sail boat races are taking place. Johnnie's Harborside, the Java Junction, El Palomar, and Lago di Coma are also favorites of ours. Deke's market on 7th Ave. is a great place for sandwiches and various grocery sundries. There are public tennis courts and a great kids park a few minutes away on 7th Ave. We also enjoy walking and riding bikes on the harbor road where the sea otters, seals, and pelicans are always entertaining. The Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk is a 5-minute drive away with the famous wooden roller coaster and many other thrilling rides for all ages. A 18-hole minature golf course at the boardwalk is also a good way to spend an afternoon. Downtown Santa Cruz and Capitola nearby offer unique shopping opportunities, movie theaters, and other excellent restaurants.
