Just about the worst possible experience possible

I had to call the host repeatedly in order to get instructions for gaining access to the property. Presumably there was supposed to be some kind of automated system, but it wasn't working. In the end, it turned out that the host double booked us with another group on another platform, so there were already people there when I got there. I was refunded, but refused reimbursement for a last-minute hotel room, so I was out of pocket by quite a lot. Would never deal with this host again. To be honest, this experience has put me off this whole paradigm of accommodation entirely. I think I'm going to stick with hotel rooms from now on.
