About this property
Lake Vermilion 1 br Cottage + Bunkhouse
This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin is cozy and romantic. (We call it The Honeymoon Cabin!) Nestled in the North Woods, on the shore of Lake Vermilion, its pine interior is homey and warm, and French doors open onto a deck that looks out over the lake. The kitchen is compact, but fully outfitted with a refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave, toaster oven, and coffeemaker.
You'll want to spend most of your time on the lake, but for those of us who can't quite leave the rest of the world behind, there is WiFi.
The cabin itself has 1 bedroom with a queen bed. You can also access the charming bunkhouse on the shoreline, which sleeps 3. The bunkhouse has an enclosed chem toilet, and there’s a cute outhouse up the hill. There is also a sauna, shared with one other cabin, for you to enjoy!
The driveway of this cabin can accommodate one boat trailer. (Getting a trailer in and out requires some care, as the gravel road is not wide.) Boats can be put in the lake at Moccasin Point or at Grubens Marina, both of which are very nearby.
We do NOT have a fire pit, and do not allow outside fires. There is often a high risk of fire, as we are in the woods. We DO provide a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking.
There are loads of attractions and activities nearby-- the Vince Shute Bear Sanctuary, the International Wolf Center, Fortune Bay Casino, shopping in Ely, fishing guides, mailboat rides, hiking, tours of the Soudan Mine, and much more.

Second time staying at this property and again everything was wonderful. Jennica was great with responding and answering any of my questions. Lake is wonderful and look forward to coming back again.
We had a blast. Property is described as the photos show. Good fishing right off the dock.Close access to Tower or the City of Cook. Very Close to several marinas and on the lake boat refueling. Central location to go any where on the lake. Truly a tiny/cozy cabin but very functional. I would totally recommend staying here.Host was great to work with.No regrets.Worth every penny spent and the memories will last a life time.
Perfect lake cabin for a relaxing family getaway. We loved the location and the setting. We were even greeted by deer and a chipmunk upon arrival. We truly enjoyed our time here and I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the bunkhouse as a reading escape for a whole day or two.
Our second time staying here and definitely not the last! Peaceful, cozy, beautiful wooded property and gorgeous big deck overlooking the lake, perfect for coffee with the dogs. And we are big fans of the sauna!
Cozy cabin. Friendly Host, reply’s promptly, beautiful lake; many things to do around area, if weather doesn’t cooperate. Great fishing. Wish we could have stayed longer!!
Delightful little cabin with all the accruements needed
Only suggestion would be to add a railing at top of trail to the dock so it will make it easier to traverse. Wonderful place!!
Great stay!! Cabin was exactly as advertised. The pier worked great even with the higher water. Struggled on the lake though the fishing was tough. I’d definitely plan another trip at the cabin.
New Owner, Jennica, has done a wonderful job keeping up the property and has even added some upgrades with new Porch Furniture and a New Fireplace for heat. Great little cozy cabin on a beautiful lake. What more could you ask for?
We stayed with our two dogs for the week. So peaceful! Whether lounging on the back deck catching the breeze off the lake, enjoying the sauna, or swimming off the dock, it was the perfect place to unwind. Thoughtfully equipped cabin and helpful communication with the owners. We will definitely be back!
If you are looking for a cozy, quiet place to relax, this is the spot for you. The cabin is small but it has everything you need to enjoy your stay. It’s on a perfect spot on the lake, and the available boat lift makes it easy to get on/off the lake. Gruben’s Marina is just down the road—an easy walk or quick trip by boat. You’re close enough to everything, but when you’re at the cabin it feels like you’re secluded and away from everything. There were only two of us, so we didn’t get to take advantage of the bunkhouse by the lake, but it would’ve been peaceful sleeping down by the shore. This was a great place to stay.
Cabin was very clean and property was very quiet. Even though it is on the small side the cabin was perfect for my wife and me. The property managers live next door and were extremely helpful with questions we had. During our stay there was a tornado warning and the managers were right there to make sure we had a safe place to take shelter. We had a great week of fishing and exploring. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved the Lake Vermillion vacation. We spread the family out among the two lake cabins and the adjoining bunkhouse - 8 of us, two babies and our dogs. It was perfect. Plenty of room, beautiful & quiet lake setting. The cedar bunkhouse by the lake and the sauna were a hit. Very special vacation. We could hear loons!
A perfect getaway from the busy-ness of life that offers a welcomed time of peace. The modest accommodations were more than expected. The setting was outstanding and easy to access. The opportunities for the simple pleasures of being in God's creation were endless. Jennica, our host went out of her way to make our stay an absolute pleasure. We were so lucky to have found this treasure. Highly recommended to any who are looking for a place where nature and affordability meet.
My wife and I really enjoyed staying at this beautiful cozy cottage while we explored the greater iron range area. We had everything we needed with a great view and wonderful breezes at all times of the day. We were able to explore three State Parks, Voyageurs National Park, nearby trails and towns along with the awesome Lake Vermillion! Jennica and hosts were very friendly and attentive to our needs ... turn key northern paradise awaits for those looking to escape to the North Woods. We'll be back!!
My buddy and I rented this property as a last minute getaway before he becomes a dad in a few weeks. The owner, Jennica, was great to work with. She promptly answered my questions as our trip approached. This property is in a great location on the lake. There are boat launches nearby, marina around the corner and a restaurant in the same bay as the property. I would recommend staying at this property if it’s available. You know it was a great trip when you are planning your next stay there before your current trip ends.
Rustic, peaceful, and beautiful wooded stay on Daisy Bay. If you're looking for a roomy modern cabin then keep looking but if you're into simple, small, and relaxing places then this is perfect. If you're a fisherman then this place is great! Smallmouth bass fishing right off the dock and the walleye are there too!! The major perk for us that will keep us coming back is the electric boat lift! Our 18ft Lund fit perfectly on the lift and it was such a relief knowing our boat was safe and wouldn't be getting any dock rash when the wind and waves picked up. Fishing was excellent!!!Our 15yo daughter stayed in the small cabin down by the lake while the wife and I stayed in the main cabin. Our daughter absolutely loved it, not often does she ask if we can go back to places but she already wants to go back. She loved the freedom away from mom and dad in her own little home on the water.
