More than 2000 years old, Pommern is a small wine-growers' village of about 500 people at the river Mosel. It is situated at the longest southern slope of the Mosel and disposes of a warm climate with little rain. The old wine-growers' houses, the oldest vicarage of the Trier diocese and the numerous small lanes make Pommern a magnificent, romantic environment for a holiday at the river Mosel. Our small village has its own train station, a baker's, a grocer's, rental bikes, snack bar, pubs and a good number of small wine-growers' inns. Here you can chat with the wine-growers and have a wine tasting. Close by you find lots of attractions for the whole family, such as the castle Burg Eltz, the amusement park Klotten, the swimming pool Moselbad Cochem. At the 'Pommerner Martberg' there are Roman temple grounds, reconstructed in the year 2004. Due to our central position, you can reach Trier, Koblenz, Mainz, Luxemburg or Cologne within one hour
Golf: You can go golfing at the golf links of the Club Hahn (9 holes), at the former US air-base Hahn (about 35 km away). They also have rental equipment and offer courses to try out golfing. Phone: 06543-5095, fax 06543-509566. Currently, new golf links are being completed near Cochem, about 12 km away from Pommern. The opening is scheduled for the summer of 2006.
