This is a beautiful house that has been restored and renovated really nicely and has everything one would need for a nice stay. It's also very close to the main downtown of Shepherdstown and we enjoyed walking to restaurants and shops from the house. Very clean and beds were comfy. Has a bit of a tricky staircase for small children, but otherwise we had a comfortable, fun, and relaxing stay at this house.
Relaxing weekend getaway with lots of space and all needed amenities.
This was a wonderful retreat from the general DC area. Communication with owner was perfect. Space nicely laid out with everything you need, and it is minutes from the artsy, small stores and intimate restaurants in town, Shepherd University, the path along the C and O Canal, the Sunday morning farmers market, and much more! Folks who live in Shepherdstown are naturally friendly, helpful, and so welcoming to visitors. A great place to chill or be more active and simply get a refreshing g break.
This is a very cute house in a nice location. Everything was clean and orderly; the kitchen was pretty well provided for basic cooking and eating for 4 people, and the host was responsive and helpful. Many changes of level throughout the house, and two low doorways could be emphasized in the listing - this house is not handicapped-accessible. Two parking spaces on the property; others across the street. Would stay again.
We enjoyed a fantastic long weekend. The host was friendly, responsive, and made the process inviting and easy. The house was clean and comfortable. We loved that downtown was within easy walking distance and enjoyed many of the shops and restaurants. The house served as a central base for visiting historical locations.
Adorable house just outside of town. We walked into town for days and dinner. Just bring a flashlight for way home if after dark so the traffic in the last block to the house can see you.
Our family stayed here for our son’s wedding at a nearby farm venue. Home was spotless, kitchen well stocked for cooking (although we didn’t do any), and the house is very conveniently located in Shepherdstown. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants in minutes. Easy drive to the wedding venue. As noted in the property description, there are a lot of stairs inside and out, so not the best choice if someone has mobility issues. Also, the sunny bedroom with all the windows is really lovely, but lack of drapes on some of the windows and the glass door made it a challenge for sleeping in early morning, and also limited privacy.
Beautiful area with great hiking trails, Shenandoah National Park about an hour away. Harper’s Ferry offered nice trails, shops, eateries and loads of history.
We were there over Christmas and New Years Eve. House was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the stay very much. Communication with the owner was quick and superb.
The house was clean (something I appreciate in a day when a $150 hotel stay no longer guarantees a clean room) and the three upstairs rooms with 2x queens & a king easily accommodated our group of six. If bringing a group with multiple cars, it’s important to note that there is driveway space for TWO cars. We only found 4 bath towels & asked for 2 more, but the cleaner didn’t feel comfortable dropping off towels while no one was home. The rental was ~20 min from the JFK race start & was a great location for us! Wish we had more time to explore local historical sites!
Located close to downtown Shepherdstown and the theater festival. Roomy house with 3 excellent bedrooms. Communication with owner was excellent. Enjoyed the stay and would return.
Friends of ours were getting married at a beautiful venue just 8 minutes away. The hosts were very accommodating. The house was charming, well decorated, comfortable and clean. Conveniently located near town. Highly recommend.
