About this property

Our home is a freestanding house on top of a beautiful quiet hill in the Highland Park neighborhood. Built in the 1950s, this ranch style house has been recently completely remodeled with an open mid-century modern style. You can look out on the large native landscaped garden from most of the rooms in the house or step outside through the large western facing wall-to-wall glass doors that give the house a true indoor outdoor feel. Outside, explore the wildness of the native landscaped garden, listen to the many birds that call it home, and enjoy season fruits from the trees. Watching the sunset over the mountains every night never gets old!

We are excited to share its beauty and tranquility with guests. We live in our home most of the year and while here aim to live with a minimal ecological footprint and create a welcoming outdoor space for humans, birds and pollinators alike!

Why they chose this property

Our house is situated in such a beautiful spot, atop a peaceful hill, that while just walking distance from the stores on York and Figueroa and just 15mins from downtown LA, has a wildness that makes you forget you are in the middle of LA. The house is very comfortable with everything you need to make a family stay complete including a fully stocked kitchen, and laundry, and incredible private backyard.

The space is designed to create a true connection from the inside to outside with large window/doors that open up allowing breeze and sweet smells of the outside flowers to waft in. Find peace and a connection to nature during your stay here!
