We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Everything is very clean and new. The bed slept well. Great location too! Right in the middle of everything but it’s like you are really in the beautiful countryside. We would go back tomorrow if we could!
This place is beautiful, the owners are awesome, we were allowed to come up a night early due to an incoming winter storm. The owners were so helpful, i cant say enough about them.
Very charming and clean! No hair or dust anywhere to be seen!
The owner contacted me and let me know the code to get in and gave great directions on finding property. Communication 5 stars!Couldn’t have been better! Thank you!
We were in town for a wedding, Bear Mountain Cottage felt like home! Everyone was super helpful to booking/recommendations of things to do! Bonus points for the cottage being super clean/updated and even better pet friendly! We hope to be back!
The cottage is immaculate and nicely decorated. While it's located in the woods, it's just minutes away from town and close to many wineries. Would definitely consider staying here in the future and recommend to our friends.
The cottage felt new and clean, it was a good size, in a cozy location, and the hosts were easy to communicate and work with. It was a short drive to downtown Leesburg and easy access to route 7 to visit some wineries. Would definitely stay here again.
Cozy stay for 2 in modern cottage outside Leesburg
A friend and I stayed in this modern cottage, tucked away in the woods about 10 minutes outside Leesburg's historic downtown. It has 1 bedroom (King) and a sitting room with a daybed, which would be a very cozy sleep for two (and I don't believe there was a door to close off the room). We shared the king and was glad another couple didn't join us, as it would have been quite tight sleeping. Also the one bathroom is shared so that creates some noise between the rooms. For two people, however, this is a great stay! The cottage is well decorated, very clean, and has most of the bed/bath/kitchen essentials to make the stay feel at home.
We were in Leesburg visiting family for a few days. This cottage was the perfect place to land at the end of the day. Everything about this little gem is simply meticulous and it’s tucked away in the woods so only the sounds of nature are heard. I only wish that we could have spent more time there. Kip, you suggested visiting in the fall and we already have our eyes on 2024. Thank you for sharing this lovely place.
Kind regards,
Arleen and Mark
The cottage is brand new, nicely equipped, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. It sits next to the owner's family home (we never actually saw them the whole time we were there). It is up a winding mountain road but we had no trouble accessing it in our fairly large truck (we had hauled horses to nearby Morven Park for the weekend). The woods and fire pit outside are picturesque and quiet. Although it's a one-bedroom cottage, there's also a den with a large windowseat at the back--perfect for my husband, the early riser, to sit and think while I slept a little later! Highly recommended and we can't wait to return. One note--the VRBO listing appears to have automatically generated the info that the cottage is a 4-minute walk from Morven Park. Although it does sit geographically near the edge of the park, the only way to get there is to go around by the secondary roads--a ten-minute drive or an hour's walk. It's also an easy ten-minute drive into historic Leesburg with all of its great restaurants.
The house was great and everything was clean and new. All the amenities were nice. The property is pretty close to the main house and GPS directions weren't totally accurate on Google Maps. Otherwise, everything was great.
