About this property

Unique Home Downtown Colorado Springs - Walk to the Newest Shops and Restaurants

One of the most unique vacation experiences in downtown Colorado Springs! Located in the trendiest neighborhood in town, this historic bed and breakfast was built by the fiancé of Colorado Springs founder, Winfield Scott Stratton. This updated home is one of the comfiest summer rentals you will find. Enjoy the mountain air beside the outdoor firepit. Walk one block to the newest restaurants, cafes, and bars. Bike to Colorado’s most breathtaking trails at Red Rocks Park or Helen Hunt Falls. This beautiful home was built in 1894 by the fiancé of local legend Winfield Scott Stratton and has a rich historical heritage. As the story goes, when Stratton, who made one of Colorado’s richest gold discoveries ever, broke off their engagement, his fiancé successfully sued him and built our home with her settlement. All the woodwork, including the refinished floors and custom cabinets, is original. The plush beds, air conditioning, and modern furnishings provide for a comfortable ambiance. Unique touches, like the claw-foot bathtub, make you feel like you have traveled back in time. There are so many choices for restaurants, cafes, and music venues within walking distance that you could stay for a week and not get to all of them. And, if outdoor activities are your vibe, then this is the perfect location. You can bike to Red Rocks Open Space, which has endless hiking and mountain biking trails for all levels. You are also a ten-minute drive from Garden of the Gods and Helen Hunt Falls, each of which boasts their own extensive trail networks and breathtaking views. If golf is your game, play and dine the Broadmoor, which is less than ten minutes away and has hosted the PGA tour for multiple events. There is so much to do and see just outside your door! You are also about 15 minutes from the Air Force Academy and ten minutes from Fort Carson.

A Great Stay!
This clean, uncluttered, comfortable, and quiet home was just perfect for our short (two-night) stay in Colorado Springs. The host was accommodating and attentive and the location was perfect - just a short walk to the Pikes Peak Performing Arts Center where we attended a concert. The kitchen had everything we needed and there were also plenty of restaurants within walking distance. A great stay!

This property is not a 2 bedroom as listed
The property lists 2 bedrooms and fools you with misleading info, pictures. It is NOT a 2 bedroom home. It instead is a 1 bedroom and loft. This confusing post led to a horrible stay for me and my adult family members. Colorado Lawful definition of a bedroom is clear. The loft area in this home does not qualify as a bedroom according to the Colorado Law definition. The couch directly sitting at the main entrance of the home is for toddlers at best, but pics pretend like this is a private area and reasonable adult usable bed for 2. It is not. The mattress is super thin and the metal bed portion is broken at end and sharp. This is not a bed meant for 2 adults by any means and is advertised as such. The fence in the backyard in the pics is shown as a private firepit area. However the fence is NOT present and you are left to face a business parking lot with NO privacy. We had NO linens and comforter for the Couch Bed and I was forced to use a towel to sleep with. The misleading advertising goes on and on with this place. The simple ask if to follow CO definition of a bedroom so that other Family's do not run into the same problem and issue my Family did in renting this home. It is not reasonable to think a person booking the property will arrive and be ok with the loft area as a adult bedroom. Then be forced to find alternative lodging arrangements that day when this property should have what is listed. I tried my best to work with the Host and VRBO before neg feedback.

Cutest house ever!!! You won't regret staying here.
Staying here was such an amazing experience! I walked in the house and immediately felt at home, It had a such a cozy feel. The host was awesome, very helpful and the check in progress was so easy. Also I couldn't ask for a better location, it was right down street from a bunch of nice coffee shops and restaurants. By far one of the best stays is all of Colorado Springs.
