Guesthouse - studio cottage in the woods

Nestled on a quiet “no thru traffic” street, this adorable cottage is on a rural 3-acre property, located down a bumpy dirt driveway back in a wooded setting.

We offer:
• a full kitchen (no microwave or dishwasher)
• full bathroom
• queen-sized memory foam mattress
• 2 memory foam pillows
• stackable washer/dryer
• a 43” television with an Apple TV and Roku (see more info below)
Wake up to sounds of nature, not your alarm clock. In the mornings, you will be greeted by a forest full of singing birds. We have seen cardinals, finches, hummingbirds, blue jays, and woodpeckers.

We are:
12 minutes from downtown Havana.
20 minutes from the Tallahassee Farmer’s Market.
24 minutes from I-10.
30 minutes from Thomasville, GA.
33 minutes from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
34 minutes from Tallahassee Airport.
35 minutes from FSU.
38 minutes from FAMU.

Please note that the cottage is studio-style. There is no wall separation between bed, living area, and kitchen.

Things to know:

We are the new owners of this property. We are working hard to update and refresh both homes, but the houses need exterior cosmetic updates. We know most guests will not care, but wanted to disclose this ahead of time. The property will look different every time you stay here!

The cottage is very close to our home. We take your privacy seriously and allow you to control how much interaction occurs after the key is provided to you. We want you to be comfortable!

There is an Apple TV and Roku available you can log into with your passwords.

We recommend bringing sturdy shoes to wear and bug spray if you plan to spend time outside. We are located in a wooded setting and the ground is uneven with lots of tree roots. Some days you don’t need bug spray, and others you do.

For the safety of our guests, their children and their pets, we do not use insecticidal pesticides inside the cottage.

House Rules:

Initial check-in is from 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Maximum stay is limited to 15 nights.

No smoking, e-cigs, or vaping permitted in the cottage or on the property.

Animals must be declared and paid for when you book the cottage. 2 maximum. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside the cottage. No pit bulls/pit mixes.

Piece and quiet.

Nice to get away from it all sometimes. Lots of different birds to see and other animals. Far enough from it all but not to far with lots of restaurants and fishing not far away.

Can't say enough good things about this little gem. This tiny home is nestled away in a quiet, wooded neighborhood. I was there for 2 weeks and it provided all the necessities of home. Elliot and Lindsey made sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommended !!!

Hidden gem

I stumbled upon this rental peoperty at the last minute as we were planning on coming to FSU for family weekend. While it is not within walking distance to campus (35 to 40 min drive), it was quiet and perfect for our weekend stay. We really enjoyed our stay and Lindsey has been an amazing host waiting for us upon our arrival.

Sweet and Memorable

Lindsey made us feel so welcomed, and the floral bouquet, the fresh eggs, along with the herbs, made us feel so very welcomed. The bed was just right for sleeping. Our stay gave us memories to cherish.

Our goals as hosts is to provide you with a space that is peaceful, so you can leave rested and rejuvenated. My mother owned a cleaning business that serviced short term beach rentals. I learned alongside of her. All linens, including comforters and bath/dish mats are washed with hot water in between guests. We use nontoxic options (like synthetic-free cassia and clove essential oils) to address air quality in between guests. Rest assured your space will be clean when you stay with us.

Why they chose this property

Our 3-acre property is completely wooded. Besides our home (which is right next door to the cottage) you cannot see any of the neighbors. We are located on a cul-de-sac and it’s a very quiet road. Behind our property is 21 acres of vacant land where we occasionally see deer hopping through.

What makes this property unique

We are a bird-lover’s paradise. You may see anything from large (and small) woodpeckers, cardinals, blue jays, hummingbirds, and owls. We also have pasture-raised chickens on-site and as long as the chickens are laying, you will enjoy the organic free range eggs they produce!
