Book a dinner reservation at Gennaro's for Italian or make a quick drive over to Maven's Inn and Grill for a drink and live band on weekends. BBQ at Bare Bull.
Drive over to Sattler for Wildflower's excellent breakfast or visit Pier
Sushi or River Rose Tavern after a day tubing on the Guadalupe River. Rent a boat from Cranes Mill Marina just up the street. Drop your boat in the lake at boat ramps 5,6,7 or 8. Visit the swim beach at

Cranes Cottage

While the location was great and the cottage was cute and clean everything else was disappointing. We had zero communication from the host about check in and check out process. I contacted the host through the VRBO app and never received return communication. I then called the number listed on VRBO and it was disconnected. I then located an alternative number and got an automated message stating to call another number that rang twice before disconnecting. We walked around the property attempting to locate someone and discovered the keys in the door of the rental so we let ourselves in. We arrived and there was no information provided I'm the rental about checkout process or accessing WiFi which was indicated as an amenity in the listing. We had luke warm hot water for only 2-3 minutes at a time whichade showering less than ideal. We finally had (very limited) communication from the host after we complained about the situation. Host emailed asking if they could go into the cottage to check the hot water. And that was it. Overall very disappointing and frustrating.
